I recently had the pleasure of visiting Acorn, a delightful little restaurant attached to the Louisiana Children's Museum. My intention was simple: to grab a quick bottle of water. However, I was pleasantly surprised by what I found. Among their offerings, a homemade strawberry pop tart caught my eye, and I couldn't resist giving it a try. It was a decision I didn't regret – the pop tart was absolutely delicious, far surpassing the ones I've tried at Disney World's Toy Story Land. The strawberry filling was evidently homemade, fresh, and perfectly balanced in sweetness.
Though my visit was brief, the variety on their menu intrigued me. There were many options I didn't get to explore, but the glimpse of their culinary diversity was enough to assure me that a return visit is necessary. Acorn is not just a convenient stop for museum-goers but a genuine culinary destination in its own right. The cozy and welcoming atmosphere adds to the overall delightful experience. I can't wait to return, especially for another one of those heavenly strawberry pop tarts! A five-star rating for Acorn – highly recommended for anyone visiting the museum or...

This is just one opinion from a very opinionated person. In the end, if I'd known that it was established by Brennon, my expectations would have been very different. I will admit that the chicken strip sandwich was very good and I dont knock the quality of the food. But, I have some serious problems with the overall experience. In a restaraunt designed to cater to families with small kids, theres no French fries besides sweet potato tots, no soft drinks of any kind and no ice. Water comes from a tap and the lack of ice means the iced tea is Luke warm. The menu is small for adults and every item is ridiculously overcomplicated. And for two adults and one child, it was over 30 dollars making very overpriced for what the place...
Read moreI think this place is a gem. It is a calm respite in a long hot summer. The adult food is amazing. I would have paid the same amount for a burger at a mom and pop burger joint but this is so much better and fresh and healthy. No, it is not hot dogs and soda pop, there are handmade potato chips, and fresh lemonade, and amazing salads, and I had blackened redfish over couscous with a watermelon salad on top, for $16, at a normal New Orleans restaurant that would have been a $30 dish. I have yet to try the kids' fare but I am sure their mac & cheese and grilled cheese is fabulous. They keep rotating staff in from the other closed FQ restaurants. They take care if their staff in hard times. I am so happy...
