TERRIBLE! Brennan's should be ashamed to associate themselves with this food. This was literally the WORST meal I've had in Nola for quite some time. I met a friend for lunch yesterday and we ordered the cup of soup and 1/2 salad and shared the fried chicken Banh Mi. The "soup of the day" was chicken gumbo. I did a second take on it when it was brought to our table. I immediately noticed how "blonde" the roux looked (strike 1). After taking a bite, I had to push this flavorless concoction with very little meat aside. I proceeded to eat my 1/2 Green Goddess salad. Although it was made up of plenty of fresh greens and veggies as well as feta cheese, there was no dressing on it and was another flavorless dish. (strike 2) I then picked up my half of the Banh Mi and took a bite. Flavorless frozen fried chicken with "ok" veggies on the sandwich. No sauce/seasoning whatsoever. (strike 3) When the waitress came by to check on us in the middle of the meal, I mentioned that the gumbo was inedible and she offered another option for replacement. I asked for a Chess Pie and it was very good. I'm sad and ashamed that a restaurant like this even exists in New Orleans, the home of wonderful food. Sadly, due to the cafe being attached to NOMA, it was packed with unsuspecting tourists that don't realize that Parkway Bakery (and so many other delicious establishments) are a short walk away. I honestly feel gipped by the Brennan's corporation. I...
Read moreNotice: order your food at the cash register first, and then find a table for them to bring your food out to you! My group and I assumed that this was a traditional restaurant, and were very confused initially on how seating is (plus no one really tells you this). Ordered a shrimp poke bowl, some pastries, truffle fries, chicken sandwiches, and some drinks. The food was pretty decent for the price, and the poke bowl was fresh along with being a pretty big portion. Half of the staff were standoffish (unsure if they were racist or just didn’t want to be here), while others were actually pretty nice. There was one specific waitress who was rude to my group (I didn’t catch her name but she wears purple lipstick) and I didn’t really care for her service. The food and drinks were good, however the overall customer service was subpar and I would likely...
Read moreI haven't visited in a while, but what I remember most is the day I brought friends visiting from out of Atlanta a few years ago. The weather was so bad that day, although it seemed to be storming just over NOMA (you know how it is here in Nola)! It took an extra long time for the food to come out, only a few of us actually got our food, and ultimately the cafe (and maybe the museum itself) had to close. We were so disappointed because the food is so good! Plus were hangry - you know how folks get when they're hungry! At the end of the day, however, Cafe NOMA still gets 5 stars being awesome and putting safety first.
Under normal circumstances the food is very good. I love the healthy menu and quality ingredients. They offer cooking demos and workshops and other fun events I...
