I really liked the museum. Beautiful and roomy inside. Each exhibit is large, unique and educational. Good mixes of painting, sculptures and other types of art. The museum is a bit hard to navigate but the staff was happy to help. I appreciate how the museum made an effort to connect its customers with the art. The only reason the museum has 3 stars instead of 5 is because one of the exhibits on the side of city park had an extremley rude worker. We asked her 3 times if she worked there because we needed help finding a certain exhibit. She made eye contact with us while still sitting in a corner of the room and ignored us 3 different times. She looked right at us and decided we weren't important enough to be helped. But when another family walked in she stood up right away, walked right to them and began speaking to them. Just an obvious display of outright disrespect. We ended up leaving after that and it put a damper on our whole experience. I hate to asssume anything but she was an older white woman and we were a black family and the family she greeted immediately was white so... Really don't think you should have people like that working for an museum. Art is...
Read moreNew Orleans Museum of Art (NOMA) the big poppa of museums in New Orleans. Love the rotating exhibits, reduces the bore. I mean, there are the staples of the museum, then there are the exhibits for which a big "hoopla" is made. I love those. Always interesting to see what's coming here for all to see.
Not only is this a great place to see artifacts and the like, but the scenery around the museum makes for an altogether pleasing visit. Plush greenery, rich vegetation (in the nearby ponds) & lest I forget to mention the fowl that flocks about.
Always nice to visit & even better on discount day....

It’s surrounded by a large park where you can rent bicycles. They have those water bicycles too. Inside they have a contemporary area and lots of interesting works of art. From Other countries and eras to know names like Jackson Polluck, Lee Krasner, Kandinsky, Andy Warhol, among others. They have a cute little cafe where I had a nice refreshment. They also have a great store where you can purchase lots of interesting gifts. Had a...
