Prytania Wine & Spirits (formerly Prytania Liquor Store) — Restaurant in New Orleans

My favorite wine and liquor store in the city with the absolute friendliest staff. They will never oversell you, you tell them what you’re looking for and they will give you a wide range of options at a variety of price points. I’m consistently blown away by the knowledge each staff member has of the various wines and spirits in store - including some of the really unique and rare things on the shelves! They know my tastes and have expertly pointed me towards wines and spirits I would never have looked at on my own and that I am now hooked on (Becherovka you saucy bitter!)

Obviously as a wine store they have some really special wines, but the liquor selection more than holds up to snuff, especially on the price point front. Go on a Friday and enjoy 10% off all the wine in store! While the beer selection isn’t the largest in the world, it’s stocked with everything you could need from ice cold local brews to a few fancy imports.

Also of important note is the balance between a reliable selection of regulars in all categories so you can always buy old reliable if you need to, balanced with the constantly rotating displays of new, unique, or just plain rare spirits and wines. I’ve found rare spirits that I’ve never seen outside of Europe or the Caribbean in the store, and while they usually aren’t permanent additions to the shelving rotation, they give me a reason to always come back because I know there’s a chance I’ll find something even a place like Total Wine can’t get their hands on.
