Response to your reply to my review. I am talking about the location on 3720 Magazine Street in New Orleans in uptown.. and please review the photos that another reviewer (Ahmed Iqbal) posted in his review just before I decided to write one. Whatever I described in my review didn’t just happen last night so I can understand why you may not remember.
I've eaten at plenty of Mediterranean restaurants to admit that this place has the best tasting shwarma sandwich. I ate there for almost a year for at least 5 days a week.. their shwarma sandwich was once much larger... when I noticed the size difference I asked one of the employees why it was smaller and his response to the question was not pleasing to say the least he replied by saying "maybe you're too hungry". After that day I stopped going there for a while and one day a friend insisted to give them another try so I tagged along.. this time I was optimistic but the shwarma was still smaller then what they originally served, but I wasn't going to complain and get insulted again... but then I asked the young guy behind the counter to give me a generous portion of shatta (hot sauce) so as he was handing the sauce the owner told him "no give him the smaller container".. and that was the last draw for me. As a customer who was a regular and a die hard fan of their food I feel like I was not treated fairly. P.S. btw nothing against the owners.. they are extremely nice, My guess is that once a business takes off you can’t expect it to stay the same and it becomes only about the profit margins.. and I say that based on the fact that shwarma sandwich is $1 higher in price then few months ago but much small in size and you dare not complain if you notice the difference or else prepare to get...
Read moreGood food. I was a regular there until they started shrinking their servings and also bumped up the prices a bit. That shawarma wrap was once an overstuffed burrito but then it started shrinking as they got busy. I have been visiting this place from day one but I guess this is it. You can not just do great on startup and once you have enough clientele, you start to cut down on quantity and quality. Don't even want to give it one star but that is lowest I can go. I got the right place sir. It is located inside Jetgo on Magazine St. Yes, prices are up by few bucks which is not an issue if quantity is same. Don’t even care about few bucks its just a matter of principle. I will let the pictures do the justice. Look at the first pic and then the rest from golden era. It weighs less, it looks lesser.... chances are it is less. Trust me I am a foodie and I dig it. That first one looks like it is about 35% of that original chicken shawarma wrap that we enjoyed for last few...
Read moreLike other reviewers said, it's kind of disconcerting to drive up to a gas station to go eat, but based on all the great reviews I wanted to try it. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by a friendly, sweet lady at the register. My husband and I each ordered a chicken shawarma plate with double salad, no rice, no pita bread (we eat low carb). The salad with vinaigrette was so crunchy and tasty. The hummus was creamy, smooth and delicious topped with an olive! The chicken was flavorful, juicy and cooked perfectly. We were offered samples of two items they were considering adding to the menu. There were specials that looked great which we plan to try next time (which may be tomorrow!!!). The owners were so warm-hearted and nice...combined with the incredible food...I hope to go there often to help them succeed. Don't be put off by the gas station...go try this food! It's...
