To the owner, you need to be involved and love your business or you're going to find it's not going to turn out well.

My wife, baby, and I waited an hour exactly for a burger and a grilled cheese. Guests very were mad for that entire hour. There were probably only 20 to 25 people total in the space.

The kitchen appears to struggle with even very light business. There were about 2 to 3 people in the kitchen throughout my time there and it seemed disorganized and inefficient especially for such a small amount of business. I'm guessing there could be an equipment issue of some kind that's exacerbating service delays.

The bathroom was also out of paper towels and toilet paper.

This sort of state and experience typically points to a struggling business on its way out or disengaged management and ownership.

Someone was coming around wiping tables and that was nice, but there was no engagement with customers on experience.

Paying $25+ and waiting an hour for what should have been pretty breezy experience was not great.

If the patties are too thick and slowing down cook times significantly (my patty was about 1.5inches thick). Likely prep should change to help this along.

Sorry for the lengthy review. I really like this place but seeing this kind of execution was painful. I have also worked in the service industry for quite some time predominantly in kitchens.

I hope that you all get better and this place rises to the occasion as the go to local burger spot...

Ordered a meal for pickup over the phone. The woman who answered thought I was apparently a waste of time to listen to, and wouldn’t listen to what I was asking even though I repeated it four times and was very short and rude. Went in to pick up the order, and it was of course wrong. Once it was corrected I brought the meal home only to find out the burger had less than three ounces of meat to it, literally had to pick apart the toppings to find it in there. The shrimp poboy had six tiny shrimp on it that didn’t even reach the edge of the bread. The waitress at the front was once again short tempered and rude throughout the whole process. This meal cost $30…. A minuscule burger and shrimp poboy. And to top it all off the ice cream machine was down so we couldn’t even order the shakes we wanted. Absolutely one of the worst eating experiences I’ve ever had. The owner should be ashamed of the portion size and customer service. That being said, the inside is very classic diner looking and...

So the young lady at the register and myself was having a conversation on what to order so at first I was going to get just the grits, eggs and cheese with a biscuit but then I change my mind and got a sausage biscuit with egg and a side of grits It never dawned on me that the young lady kept the first order on the register so when I made it home I opened the bag and I had more food than what I initially needed. So when I went back to explain it to her, she’s gonna tell me about I never asked her to take off the number one off my ticket order, but we live in the world where common sense isn’t so common if I’m having a conversation with a person and they changed their mind about the first order automatically I would’ve been like. Do you still want the number one no so she charged me for all that food and it’s only me I will never be returning there again , it’s a rip off and they got over on me this time but they won’t get over on me next time cause I won’t be there and I wish to...

3/3/2023 We went here on a wham before we went to the zoo the women at the counter was very friendly and patient with us when it came to explaining what was in the food. It was my Birthday and my sister told them unknown to me and they said happy birthday to me over the mic which was super loud lol but i got a kick out of it. We had just missed breakfast so we ordered the special which was fried catfish, crawfish etouffee with rice and a side of salad. the cat fish was fried well the only issue I had was it wasn't any seasoning on it but i just used french dressing as a dipping sauce it was still good without the seasoning, the crawfish etouffee with rice was also good it had a nice light flavor to it, the whole meal was a good first meal of the day it wasn't heavy. I did realize a lot of people was ordering burgers now thinking about it we should have ordered burgers to go to try them out lol.. The inside was very nice and clean and so was the restroom.

Disgusted. Unfortunately there is no easy way to write that I was poorly treated simply based on my appearance. The lady at the counter treated us very poorly, acted like it was inconvenience for us to be there. Our root beer floats did not come in a nice cold mug, the root beer was nothing special, and about 2 more inches could have gone in the paper cup. The next customer the employee interacted with was not the same appearance as me and they were greeted with smiles and the employee was very nice to them. I find this disgusting especially as I am wearing clothing that clearly identified me as a US Military Combat Veteran. This is horrendous behavior and we were very disappointed. We made a special trip from the French quarter to eat at this “iconic” place. Never again, absolutely furious by how we were treated and the food wasn’t special either and the parking is a disaster to get into. I would never recommend this place to anyone.

This place is cool inside and out! I was drawn in by the giant 1950s rootbeer sign and wasn't disappointed when I walked in. There was vintage tunes rockin the joint, with very clean and well kept 1950''s style red upholstered booths and chairs, plus a checkered floor to match the truly authentic feel. The best part for me was the free Ms Pac-Man video game. Yes that's straight out of the 1980s who doesn't love a free video game, and Ms. Pac-Man happens to be my favorite! I only ordered a vanilla malted milkshake, but that was the best one I've ever had! My friends who lives around the corner says the food is great, so I will definitely be back.
