Never coming here again. Terrible service and coffee. I tried to write a short review but this needs more than a few words.
I waited in line for 15+ minutes just waiting to get my order taken. There was a couple that was before me who had just finished ordering and were waiting for their drinks, so I figured I wouldn't wait long. Nope! It somehow took that long to order with at least 6 people running around behind the counter and in the kitchen. Some of the staff were too busy leaving the work area to chat with customers about mundane things to actually work, so that probably didn't help. Multiple staff saw me standing there waiting to order and ignored me. After a while, one of the staff members looks over attentively.
Oh, finally! She'll take my order.
Nope!
She saw the lady BEHIND me and asked what THEY wanted. Apparently they are friends, and the staff member happened to notice her waiting in line. Excuse me? What about me? I've been at the front of the line for over 10 mins at this point! Not an exaggeration, I had happened to check my phone right before I was in line.
Another couple of minutes pass. The woman I was ignored for had already received her drink and left. I'm considering leaving when FINALLY one of the staff approaches the counter and asks what I would like to order. I ask for an iced latte, and a couple of minutes later it's unceremoniously handed to me with no apology for the wait, no thank you or anything.
Okay, whatever. I finally have coffee now. This place has great ratings from what I've checked, so the coffee must be worth the wait, right?
My drink was a weak, watery, pathetic excuse for coffee. I chucked it into the trash without even finishing half of it. 4 bucks and almost 20 mins wasted on this garbage.
In conclusion, don't bother, just brew some yourself. You'll get it faster and it'll taste better. Unless you're good friends with one of the staff. They'll apparently ignore other customers...
Read moreI’m here on vacation with my girlfriend. We always try the local coffee shops. It’s our thing. Anyways, we stopped in this morning for coffee and some breakfast. My girlfriend got the Asiago bagel, was raving about it the whole time. I got the French toast as it had great reviews online. It was quite sweet, if I got it again I might not put the syrup on it. That’s just my preference. It was still excellent! Just very sweet on its own and I found adding the syrup made it a little too sweet for my taste. Still great though. The coffee was excellent! I got the blueberry pancake latte. I chose to get it iced. It was so good!!!!! Definitely will be getting it again in a larger size! My girlfriend got the s’mores latte (hot) and finished it before we even left! However, all of this is just the icing on the cake. The cherry on top was how accommodating they were! All the girls working today were so warm and welcoming! I’m accompanied by my cardiac alert service dog. One of his favorite things to get on occasion is a pup cup ( a cup of whipped cream). He always sits and patiently waits, as he’s supposed to, for me to ask the staff if I can order him one. Not only did they allow him to have two, but they even brought him out a bowl of water. Yes a bowl! Not a cup. Can’t even put into words how much this impressed me and I know it meant the world to him. My service dog is my lifeline and he’s worked very hard to get where he is in his training and his career. I love being able to repay him with a treat from time to time and this one I know made the books for him and I both! We will definitely be visiting again in the future!!! DISCLAIMER, THIS IS NOT A PET FRIENDLY BUSINESS. THEY ONLY ALLOW TRAINED...
Read moreA sure fire way to break up the monotony of the "daily grind" is to visit the Daily Grind Cafe. Take a moment out of your day to step into a very unique place in the heart of downtown New Philadelphia. Allow yourself to soak it all in as soon as you walk through the doors. You will be greeted by the smells of fresh baked goods, and coffee. Is there really anything better? The food is freshly made from scratch, and so it might take a little longer to make your bacon, egg, and cheese on a croissant breakfast sandwich, but they aren't pouring things out of cartons or cutting open plastic packages to prepare it. More importantly, it will fill you up. The real magic of the place is the people that work at and visit the cafe each and every day. They are probably some of the best people found in the Tuscarawas County area. Take some time out of your day to meet some of them, and you will find that you are surrounded by some good people. You might be talking to an artist who professionally paints murals around the county area, a former NSA employee with stories that will make your jaw drop, or a trainer of a professional MMA fighter. Allow the Daily Grind to become that special place for you, and hopefully it can help make those long days a little...
