Lefty's Pizza Kitchen — Restaurant in New Trier Township

I went to Lefty’s for the first time and thought it was the best pizza ever. Then I went to highland park and thought the same but … the third time was not a charm. I got the wrong order. It was clear that the cook knew his mistake. I got sausage on a spinach order. There was fresh spinach on top to cover the error. When I called to complain they were as accommodating as possible and the next day I went back to pick up a deep dish. They are so very nice there and comped the difference in price. However, there was only cheese on half the pizza. Their pizza was great but they could not get it right the last two times. They are the nicest staff ever but check your order...

Don't know why it took me so long to write this review! I grew up going to Burt's Place and went to school with his kids. Lefty's Pizza in Wilmette was opened by John Munao and is the most like the original Burt's. John had been trained by Burt himself and has honored the tradition of fresh and delicious carmelized crust deep dish pizza and a simple menu of a few sides, salads and dessert. Filberts soda is a wonderful compliment. A lot of guys say they know pizza. I know a couple guys, great guys, in fact! And man, do they know pizza. But not like me! I've been eating pizza regularly for 27 years! In fact ask anyone around and I guarantee you they will tell you that no one knows pizza like I know pizza! In fact I would wager a great deal of money, more money than you can possibly even imagine, that Leftys has the best thin crust pizza in the city. I say Lefty's is the right pizza! 5 star pizza!
