Northfield Restaurant — Restaurant in New Trier Township

The reviews did NOT live up to the expectation. Decided to give this place a go because of the great reviews it had, I called in for a to go order & was greeted by a rude host. While I was placing my order, the host started speaking to someone else on the phone, which was a bit unprofessional. Today’s order was for a “Cheese cheeseburger deluxe”, which was SUPPOSE to have been cooked well done. I was told the order would be ready in 10 minutes, once I got there (10 minutes later) I had to wait an additional 15 minutes before I received my food. I was also over charged a few dollars, so I asked for a receipt to see what had happen.. The host took a piece of paper and wrote “cheese burger” and the dollar amount. Since this was a local place, and my first time in, I didn’t let it bother me. What really bothered me, was the food. Most of the fries were either overcooked, soggy or completely burnt. The burger was a complete disappointment.. Not only was it NOT well done, it was flavorless. A very disappointing experience overall, had high expectations...

The waitresses are very rude and disrespectful one day the waitress started arguing with me acusing me of not tipping her on previous occasions. Although she didn’t deserve a tip I actually still tipped her. I felt sooo embarrassed for her. Like who does that clearly she has other issues and I don’t wanna say it’s racism but I certainly feel like she was. I won’t be back everrrr and neither will anyone I know because her fight isn’t with me it’s her reflection of her life. sorry we all have problems and all I wanted was a nice place to eat but this isn’t the place for me or anyone that I know I doubt if they will excepted that disrespect like I did it would have been a worse review and experience for her.Also I tried coming just for takeout and she still is there with her same bitter attitude never apologized for her rant she did in front of all the customers ruining everyone else’s meal and day I’m sorry I didn’t wanna put a bad review but she needs to know the effect she can have on people also God sees...

I have been coming to the Northfield Restaurant for several years, originally for an early Friday dinner with my father. Following COVID restrictions, I was disappointed their hours had cycled down to exclude the dinner hour, though I recently returned for lunch.

The Northfield Restaurant is truly a dining gem nestled into Northfield. It's warm, clean, and inviting with prompt service and very generous servings of delicious food - virtually anything and everything including hot and cold breakfasts; sandwiches and burgers; soups and salads; and complete dinners. Service can be slower or inattentive at times, but the slower, more relaxed pace itself lends itself to the restaurant's character that makes it...
