Update 3/30/22 - I just went to caribou at 8:03 pm. The sign on the door says they are open until 9:00 pm. However we sat at the order board for about 5 minutes with no answer from anyone to find an employee standing by the window eating. So.... I have no idea if they were actually open until 9 or if they closed at 8 but the sign on the front of the store clearly says 9:00pm!!! Omg I'm getting sick of this place.
Update to prior review below* I am still happy New Ulm finally has a Caribou, however it has been going down hill a bit. I am missing ingredients in my drinks often, the drinks are not as hot as they used to be, the prices keep going up and I am finding it more difficult to figure out when they are open. I have been to town 3 times and each time, varying times of the day, I go through the drive thru and they are closed! It's so frustrating! All I want is a coffee!
Previous post: I am so glad there is a caribou in New Ulm now. The drive thru wait is sometimes longer than expected, but my drinks are always right and hot. I don't like how they put you on the spot to tip though at the window. It makes me...
Read moreThis caribou in New Ulm used to be one of my favorite (and I go to quite a few in Minnesota) until, yesterday, Monday, January 8, 2024. I went inside (I usually go through the drive thru) and spend over $15 as usual, but the service was not pleasant. My server was a heavy-set male with blond hair and glasses. He wasn't polite and never said "thank you" nor "have a nice day" which is customary for caribou. When he was finished bagging my order, he put the bag on the counter in front of me and walked off. When I told him "you could at least said thank you because I am not obligated to visit this place." He immediately started mocking me in a sing-song voice, "it's okay, it's okay, it's okay....." I told him it will be okay after my review. I visited that location EVERY Monday and Tuesday, sometimes twice a day, (I am addicted to the cranberry muffins) I bet a few associates will remember me because...
Read moreIt had been years since visiting a Caribou. One opened in New Ulm and my friend got me addicted to the nitro-Carmel high rise. They are not value priced yet worth every penny! Recently, my friend and I decided to hit the drive thru. They were out of Carmel and asked to use sugar free instead. We decided to proceed as recommended. Spent $20 on horrible tasting drinks. I called the next day to see if we could have our drinks remade as they went to waste. Manager on duty stated “If you are looking for free stuff no, but call another manager back in the morning. She might give you a discount”.
Well, I chose to not call anyone back. A customers experience is sacred to successful businesses. I never ask for free things. I’d like to express my sadness to Caribou of NU. Now I think twice about stopping in the afternoon for two pick-me-ups that...
