Lakes On 1st — Restaurant in New Ulm

Small eatery on 1st St (Which you may have guessed already from the name) in New Ulm. If you are looking for a phenomenal and unique burger, then this IS your spot!

The burgers are different and taste oh so good! I had the Blue Burger the last time I was here in 2017 and it was great. Today (2018) I had the Ultimate burger by Phil. A burger topped with cheese, pulled pork, BBQ sauce, and onion rings. I wanted to give it a shot and thought it would be a bit over the top. It was great! All the flavors blended together very well! They have a ham and pineapple version which looked good, a sweet and heat burger with jalapeno's, and a Fun Guy burger which is a mushroom and swiss. (Get it?)

2019 Update - We stopped for lunch last week and I tried the Pineapple and Ham burger. Really flavorful, if a bit messy. Once again the blend of these ingredients work well together. So far, my favorite of the three is the Ultimate Burger. I think the jalapeno burger is on my list for the next visit. We'll see how I'm feeling that day. :)

Went here for lunch. small place, about 5 tables and a counter. Friendly and attentive service. I had the Gobbler burger, a bacon cheeseburger topped with granny smith apple slices. The sweetness of the apple was a nice kick to the burger. Wife had the Beefanator, sliced prime rib with onions and peppers and was very pleased. This place is on our short list of...

Very nice little cafe at decent prices!! I ordered the loaded hashbrowns that had the meats and onion and mushroom laid on a bed of super crispy hashbrowns along with some toast. A good hearty breakfast to finish the start of the day(you read that right!!). Hope to return soon and try some other fixins'. And get pictures....can't believe I...
