Other businesses treat customers as God, but this business thinks it's God.
This place is getting desperate for your money. Want to experience what a scam and a total rip-off feel like? Go there.
For example, they asked you to scan the QR code to see the menu. On the menu, the price for a pitcher of juice is listed as $25 (with nothing in clear writing, I will say it again, NOTHING IN CLEAR WRITING that says the fresh juice is not $25 but freaking $55, apparently, you have to specifically ask for the CONCENTRATE JUICE which is the listed price of $25. What's more? Their servers never informed you of the difference in prices in the first place when you asked for a pitcher of juice and you will be surprised unpleasantly at the end) and I was charged $55 for a pitcher of juice that was supposed to be $25. By the way, freaking $55 for the juice? Is that made of gold or what? Yeah, I bet their attitude is something like you poor soul think it's expensive? GTFO and don't come here.
Ask yourself: Is this the customer's fault for not getting the information that you don't list it in the menu and your servers never told them about? Does this feel kind of like a scam to you? Is it smart and ethical to surprise your customers with hidden prices that you never informed them about in the first place?
The second rip-off example: A MANDATORY MINIMUM 20% TIPS or you can't leave without feeling unwelcome. If you put any tips under 20%, say 15%, their servers will stop you from leaving in front of your friends (How did it feel? Anything but shameful) and they dare to demand more tips from you. You might ask: What quality service do they provide that deserves 20% tips from you? Absolutely nothing. They have no quality customer service but they do have the audacity to ask more from you.
Ask yourself: How do you feel? Is this how you want to be treated? Do you expect the customer to come back again? Do you think they must not avoid this place like a plague and warn their friends never to come?
Don't believe me? Read other reviews (especially the lowest ones), and you will find out I was not the only victim here. If you want to have fun without feeling scammed, go to other karaoke places and there are a bunch of them around 8th Avenue in Brooklyn. In a free market, any business that puts customers last should...
Read moreHonestly….after an amazing night with my friends, my night abruptly came to an end after visiting this establishment. First and foremost, as a VISTOR to New York and also as someone who works as a bartender part-time…I was truly disgusted, flabbergasted and stunned at the treatment and behavior from the staff at this establishment. Initially we were told that for an hour of karaoke it would be $130 and $100 worth of credit for food and drinks…as our hour came to an end, my party still had money left to spend for our credit, so we decided to head to the bar to spend the remaining amount of our money. We ordered “lemon drop” shots, I put soft quotations as the shot was NOT a lemon drop shot and was clear as day. There wasn’t an ounce of lemon juice, lemons in it at all. After we received the shots and noticed the discrepancy, we didn’t complain that the shots were made incorrectly, we simply asked for 3 BACKS aka A CHASER of sprite. The bartender told us that would be $21. As my confusion peaked, I asked why a chaser, along with a shot already paid for would be $21? Then…she proceeded to say $7. We then asked to speak to a manager - as I proceeded to address the manager, upon initial conversation, he was oddly staring at the ceiling..as if he was disinterested in me speaking to him. Super odd and also very dismissive. He then proceeded to talk to another person in my party and proceeded to say “your complaining about $130???” - what a way to treat your very little paying customers. Nobody was even in there, but at this point I guess I understand why. The security guard that they retrieved to throw us out, then proceeded to tell us how the owner is racist and basically hates black people lol. So much for judging a book by its cover, this establishment doesn’t deserve to stay open another day. Overpriced and VERY lackluster. All this over a side of sprite lol - an establishment with management as such will never survive - my African American family, if you wanna spend your money else where and feel valued as a customer, STEAR CLEAR FROM...
Read moreWhen we arrived, the place was still partially under construction. It seemed like the whole bar was being replaced. With so many fumes in the air you'd expect them to be closed, but no, they were open! Thankfully, the individual rooms didn’t have the same issue. Before getting to the room, we were asked to pay upfront: $50 per hour for 2 hours, which came to $100. However, after adding a “service fee,” the total was $133. This fee also included a $100 credit for food.
After walking through the cloud of dust, we finally made it to our Karaoke room. We ordered two trays of 6 wings, some spring rolls, and four green tea shots (5/10) – basically using up our entire $100 credit. About an hour into our two-hour session, we ordered more drinks and were charged another service fee.
Before leaving, we decided to buy some more shots, only to be hit with a $30 service fee (aka tip). In total, we spent $400, with $100 of that going straight to tips. It was odd that they couldn’t let the tips come more naturally.
The service was ok, we had Ben and Bowen as waiters. At one point we placed an order and never recieved it becuase they thought the other had handled it. Super frustrating! As Chinese-run business, the staff barely speaks English, except for Eric, the person who greeted us when we arrived. So that made a lot of the explaining frustrating. We made it to the end of the session though.
Upon leaving there was a big fight outside involving at least 10 people. Security said something super strange as we stood there and watched, "It's not a smart idea to stand around while they fight, if they pull out a pew pew and start lettin go, yall the first ones" My first question to him was did he let them in with a pew pew because how could that happen and why if we weren't involved and with security checking you upon arrival????
Super weird...
