Ave-Z Deli & Pizza — Restaurant in New York

Here’s my experience with them. There’s one guy there in the morning and a teenager there in the afternoon that’s at the register or making coffee and they are great/wonderful. This review is not a reflection on them as they have ALWAYS been courteous and respectful, (honestly was going to give them 2 stars but because of them 2 employees I gave it 3) This review is for the rest of the staff at the register and pizza counter or owner that works there at the register. I have been there at different times of the day for a few years now. What I’ve noticed is they won’t give you coffee the way you like it. If you ask for more sugar, the guy at the counter gives a major attitude and seems like he does what he likes with it. The first time I ever stepped in there years ago, I asked for a large coffee with a certain amount of sugars. He rolls his eyes, makes the coffee then don’t even offer a a coaster to go with the hot coffee. You taste and could tell he just put less than what you requested. Many times I’ve left and was like WTH is this and leave just to not cause issues. I’ve even threw the coffee away after a sip or 2. Then they raised the price of the coffee. God forbid you ask for more sugars. The guy charged 50 cent extra just for a little more sugar recently . Seems like if they don’t like you, they will make you aware with a condescending attitude. Other issues are with things like the pizza, at night the older guy at the register (He looks like he has worked there for decades and hates his job) He doesn’t use gloves, comes from the register but will touch your food with his hands , put it in the oven to the box with still no gloves or washing his hands then straight to the register. Mmmm best pizza ever… they raised the price on everything but a regular slice. Just for them to CLOSE THE BOX COVER INTO YOUR PIZZA! I love my pizza with a touch of cardboard into the cheese Yum! The hot food looks good but for some odd reason it’s not available during dinner hours Saturday’s or Sunday’s 🤷🏻‍♂️ and it’s really expensive but it does look and smell good. Maybe one day I can afford it for lunch just so I can hold it until dinner. Their chicken over rice is $12 🤷🏻‍♂️ it’s usually $8-$10 everywhere else tho. They have monopolized that area and charge more because of the area they are in and they have money in that area, they take advantage of it in my opinion. (As they should as it is a business and they know their demographic for sure) I will continue to support them tho because they are literally the only store there that makes hot food like pizza and breakfast/lunch food and has coffee in that area. And the 2 ppl I mentioned earlier, the respectful guy and teen in the afternoon might be the only reasons ppl like myself will keep coming back. They will know who I am after this review and hopefully they will give me a reason to edit it and turn it around cause I...
