I'm an insomniac & meds never helped my insomnia, but when I tell you that I not only fell asleep within minutes of laying down - I slept the ENTIRE night, instead of waking up ever 2 hours, staying awake another 2 hours, fall back asleep, & so on. I can't remember the last time I missed my TWO alarms going off cuz I was sleeping.... A full night of sleep, uninterrupted OMG AMAZING. I definitely need to know the name & model of that mattress in room 205. I did not eat the breakfast - all the continental breakfasts are all the same in my opinion, so I can't say anything good or bad about it. The general area, location - well I'm a native Brooklynite, but relocated to a more quiet state a few years ago & I can tell that although a lot of Brooklyn has gone through changes, some areas for the better, some for the worse, & some have just remained the same --- this is definitely one of them. Dead end street. Very small parking lot - signs everywhere that the hotel is NOT responsible for damage/theft etc of your vehicle, although they DO have an electric vehicle charging station in the back down the ramp behind the hotel. I thought that was cool. But that part of the neighborhood, I remember it all too well & it has not changed... a few creepers walking around --- I arrived at 9pm, which is fairly early for me, & there were several cars each with 2 males (maybe more in the backseat but I only saw the front seats & they all kept watching my truck (I have a brand new SUV & the fact that my truck has out of state plates, in that neighborhood, makes my truck a target.) I do have motion sensor night vision front & rear dash cams, & I am from Brooklyn so I recognize & notice certain things that non-New Yorkers completelyignore, I ended up getting lucky cuz as I was looking for parking, someone at the very front was leaving, so I took that spot & told the gentleman checking me in to please just take a peek out his window from time to time & make sure no one is near my truck (I'm a female so that helps at times 🙂.) He was very kind & said "of course, it's a very nice truck". I thanked him & went to my room. In the morning - I overslept cuz of that amazing mattress lol & was running a bit behind schedule, I was hurrying but was not gonna be ready by 11am checkout, so I called the front desk to explained my situation & request just 20 more minutes so I can do my "girl stuff" makeup, blow-dry hair etc. I was told no problem by a young lady that answered the phone that it's ok, 20 minutes - no problem. Everyone was very sweet & kind 🙂. Thank...
My 5 star review is not a direct reflection of the hotel itself but how it fit my needs. Based on its own merit, I would give it 4 stars. But we're not talking about the MGM are we.
If you're looking for aesthetics, this is not the place. It is in an industrial district. Primary car repair/collision etc. So literally the area is littered with junk cars. The building is functional looking.
I flew from FLA to NY to attend my son's graduation and stayed one night.
Crime is not an issue. Right next to the hotel is a NYPD/Federal Depot. They serious use drones at night to survey the area around their gated lot and building, and by caveat, the hotel. Go a few blocks and there's a high-school. Walk towards neptune (3 blocks) and there's shops, food etc. Real NY, Brooklyn.
The rooms are small, yet the bathroom is a good size. Mine had a mid size wardrobe cabinet. The desk. Table area is small, but I was able to use my laptop just fine. It was clean and cozy. Plus, I was there to rest, not party.
The staff was great. Attentive, supportive. I lost my wallet and they were super helpful in making sure they did all they could do. I regularly saw them cleaning rooms. Even for an overnight.
I didn't really eat their breakfast. As a native New Yorker, I wanted NY food.
My sons graduation was at Coney Island. It was a 20 min walk.
If your driving, the highway is very close. But not close enough where you can hear any thing. The D train is very close as well as buses.
Overall, I was extremely satisfied!
My son is leaves for college soon and where he lives in not near Coney Island. If I have a reason to be in the area, I would definitely stay here again.
Thanks for...

We do not have a car so easy public transport to the beach was important. This was a bit cumbersome but not impossible. The bus stop to the beach was around the corner (ironically in front of the rival hotel). The walk to the bus was not terrible but there are lots of industrial/auto facilities that take up the sidewalk. We also did the walk the whole way from the hotel to the beach, which was close to a half hour walk for us (stroller with two kids). The walk is not terrible but again, it’s very industrial so it’s pretty desolate at night. But back to the hotel itself- we had the continental breakfast both mornings. Good options and well maintained. Front desk is very accommodating and friendly. All staff we encountered were great. The bathroom on the first floor was out of service which was slightly inconvenient for breakfast but not terrible. All around we had a wonderful stay and would...
