Bagel Parlor — Restaurant in New York

Bagels are great. The service is awful. They seem to always be aggravated or irritated at the counter. I asked nicely if the walnut cream cheese had dairy in it and with a snarky response they said “it’s cream cheese. Yeah.” So I said yes sometimes there is tofu and they dismiss me completely saying “we don’t have that here. Next!” Very rude. Regardless, I got a bagel for my friend because that’s what she wanted. I went in there again this morning with my mom and all we did was ask if ours was going to be ready soon cause we were waiting for a good 20 minutes. We asked if next time it would be best if we pre order just so we that know and the guy behind the counter said “obviously don’t order two minutes before. The person before you got butter not cream cheese. Yours is cream cheese so that’s why you’re waiting.” In such a rude way. Every time I’ve gone in there, I’ve always had a smile on and had been kind and each time I leave confused why they seem to get thrill for being snarky and dismissive to their customers. The organization there is awful. For a wait like that, you’re better off going to utopia bagels. At least with utopias long lines, each person working there is friendly, nice, and happy to...

If I can give this place a zero I would. First all the people that are working there are incompetent. This is the second time this happened to me. I ordered an omelette, cheese, bacon, and home fries I go home. What do I have? Bacon and fries and cheese on top no omelette. Meanwhile, they make up their own prices. girls are at the register they always overcharge and never provide a receipt. I ordered three of the same orders and the price is so much higher. then it should have been. And then when I correct them, they look at you dumbfounded. They don’t have an idea of what the prices are. This is very disappointing. The place was so much better when they opened up and the owner was there to over see them. The owner should be involved and teach the people how to run a business because he will lose business. I won’t be going there again and I’ll make sure to tell the people don’t go because there’s incompetent people. This used to be a 5 star bagel shop. I swear the Spanish lady in the front hates me. She always gives me the worst bagels, burnt or tiny. I think it’s because she wants a tip and I never tip. If I come in every day and support your business why should I tip? My money is keeping you employed at your job. I only tip for catering orders because it’s a lot of work. Throwing 2 bagels in a bag does not warrant a tip. If I’m totally off then she just hates me for whatever reason. utopia bagels is the same distance from my house. Never had an issue with them. I hope the owner reads this and removes that tip jar and explains to the staff that customer service is paramount to a company surviving. Treat your customers kindly. They keep the light on and...
