I really wanted to love this place, and fully expected that I would. However, we were really disappointed with the food. We both ordered typical dishes you'd find at an Irish restaurant, figuring that this place would have these recipes down to a science. Nope. My friend had fish and chips, which were kind of tough. I couldn't figure out if they were cooked from frozen, or just overcooked. Some of the coating was mushy. They just didn't look and taste fresh. I had the beef pot pie which was nothing special, the Worcestershire sauce flavor was way too strong . However, the shrimp cocktail was great, the shrimp were very fresh. My friend ordered a basic salad and it was nothing noteworthy but it had varied ingredients and it was a large portion. The worst thing about the meal, however, was that they had a party room next to us, and even though there was a partition dividing the party room from the rest of the bar, we may as well have been sitting inside. The music was so loud my friend and I could barely hold a conversation without yelling across the table. Since I had called and made reservations ahead of time, they should have mentioned this at the time of the reservation. Even though it was a Saturday night, in no time at all the bar literally had nobody in it. I can only imagine everybody just tried to escape the pounding music. What famous neighborhood Irish bar is empty on a Saturday night?? I guess the proceeds from a booked party, are greater than the proceeds from a room full of people drinking. I don't know. On the bright side, the staff was very nice, and the waiter / bartender gave us a couple of beers for free and was very friendly. Unfortunately, the minuses outweigh the plusses here, and we won't be back. Oh, and they had no Bud Light. They ran out, he said. Again very few bars that you can't find a...
Read moreFantastic, We had just come from a funeral at Calvary Cemetery. Saying farewell to our cousin . Who happen to have been born in Ireland 🇮🇪. The 5 of us had all traveled a distance to say our farewells. We figured, we would catch lunch before heading our separate ways. Nothing better than a Irish pub, to toast our cousin with a Pint of Guinness. One of our traveling party happens to be in a wheelchair. Two steps doesn't seem like a lot. However it is in a wheelchair. Bill the owner I believe. Opened up the back door to the banquet hall. To allow my sister in. The gesture was so appreciated. The service and food was great. The Shepherds Pie was the best 3 of my companions have ever had. The two burgers were also cooked to perfection. Did I mention that they were so large. The fries hand cuts made in house. I will be back anytime. I visit family...
Read moreI love coming here after shopping at Restaurant Depot. It’s a great pub with so much potential, but the owners really need to consider hiring more staff. There’s often only one bartender managing the bar, food, drinks, and even tables orders, overwhelming for them.
Every time I ask to play Quick Pick, I’m met with the same response: “I’m very busy, I have too many people to take care of.” If that’s the case, why even have a lottery machine here? Another time, I asked about Super Bowl boxes, and again, the answer was: “I’m the only one here; I can’t help you right now.”
People come to a bar to relax and enjoy what’s being offered, not to face these repeated inconveniences. Sadly, I don’t plan on coming back until things improve. Please consider hiring more staff so the service can match the potential...
