I rarely feel compelled to write a scathing review, but after the debacle my family and I experienced at Bloom Botanical Bistro this past Mother’s Day, I feel it’s necessary to share. We specifically chose this establishment for its advertised "bottomless" mimosa brunch—exactly what my mom had requested for her special day. What we received, however, was an exercise in miscommunication, mismanagement, and sheer disappointment.
To begin with, our reservation was at 12:00 PM, and we weren’t seated until 12:23. I understand that Mother’s Day is a busy day for restaurants, but a simple acknowledgment would have been appreciated. Instead, we waited without a word, left in the dark about how much longer it would take. The only time we were offered an update was when we ourselves asked. No apologies, no explanation—just the sense that our presence wasn’t a priority.
When we were finally seated, we were eager to dive into the bottomless mimosas that were part of the reason we chose this restaurant. However, the server informed us that because it was Mother’s Day, bottomless drinks were unavailable. This was a complete shock, as the menus we had been handed still listed bottomless drinks. After voicing my surprise, I requested to speak with a manager, who was utterly unhelpful. She explained that the restaurant would not offer bottomless mimosas because doing so would mean that guests would be seated for two hours, and they had too many reservations to manage. This logic was baffling to me, especially when I asked how long we would be allowed to stay, only to be told, “Oh, there’s no time limit.” So, apparently, it wasn’t the time that was the issue—just the bottomless drinks.
The lack of customer service and failure to provide any meaningful solution only escalated my frustration. After expressing my discontent (and even mentioning that I would be writing this review), the manager offered a high-top table for four in an attempt to accommodate my party of five, and—get this—offered the bottomless mimosas as a “gesture of goodwill.” By this point, we had already wasted over 45 minutes of our time. I declined the offer, as my family was more interested in spending time together than being further inconvenienced.
Now enters the gentleman who I initially thought was the owner, attempting to smooth things over. He was charming and remembered us from past visits, but his response was no more satisfying. Instead of addressing the issue at hand, he promised that our next visit would be better. He even asked if I was satisfied with his attempt to resolve the situation, to which I was honest: absolutely not. This entire ordeal could have been resolved in five minutes if they had simply honored the bottomless mimosas or made a reasonable attempt to do so.
After more back-and-forth, the gentleman did eventually agree to accommodate my mother and offer the bottomless drinks. By this point, however, over an hour of our time had been wasted, and the experience was tainted beyond repair.
The one bright spot in this entire experience was our server, Nicolette. She was gracious, patient, and always had a smile on her face, even as the situation clearly grew tense. Her professionalism was the only thing that kept us from completely writing off the day.
In conclusion, while I’ve had great experiences at Bloom Botanical Bistro in the past, the management on Mother’s Day was completely inept and unprepared. The way this was handled was shameful—simple communication and a willingness to accommodate a customer’s reasonable request would have turned a disappointing situation into a positive one. Instead, we were left frustrated, disappointed, and questioning whether it’s worth giving this restaurant another chance in the future.

Read morehad the pleasure of having my Mother’s Day dinner here. My sister recommended this place because I significant other is a vegetarian and I’m not. That’s the story behind the creation of Bloom.
It’s located on Metropolitan Avenue, and parking was easy to find. Not sure if we just got lucky. Upon walking in I was pleasantly surprised because it’s much bigger inside than you would think.
The floral arrangement in the entryway is absolutely beautiful. I’m a sucker for things like that. They even have a matching floor wall with a swing for you to sit on and take pictures, and they even have a ring light for lighting. The back wall of the restaurant is covered as well and a great backdrop for the restaurant 🥰
It was a Saturday night and the night before Mother’s Day so the place was definitely busy along with the fact that they were having live entertainment that later on that night.
We waited at the bar for our table to be ready which was roughly maybe 15 minutes or so before we were seated. While at the bar I selected one of the signature drinks they offer, it was called Midnight in Paris. It was pretty good. I believe it involved vodka, and Prosecco served in the champagne glass with some other stuff my pic shows the total ingredients. For dinner, I chose the short rib burger, which came with the option of hand-cut fries or a side salad. I chose a side salad, and I added a side order of truffle fries. The burger was phenomenal. It was so odd because it was a little dense but delicious. The truffle fries were amazing as well. But the showstopper for me was the salad. I had no idea I would enjoy a salad that much. Elevated and what I mean by that was it seem to be a simple mixed green salad with a balsamic dressing, topped with caramelized cashews that took it to a whole another level. I’m not even a fan of nuts, but this I thoroughly enjoyed. (If you are allergic to nuts be sure to let them know beforehand) I
f you know me you know I visited the bathroom (I love a good restroom in a restaurant) 😎. That lady's room did not disappoint. Upon walking in I said this is cute, I went in a stall and looked and said oh wait a minute “this is niccccce” (in my Tiffany Haddish voice). I immediately came out of the stall and began taking my pics LOL
I came back to my table and told my man alllllll about it. He just laughed at me. Anyway, the place was dimly lit and had a cozy feel to it. It was a little loud at times. There were like two birthday celebrations going on so it could have been that. Before we finished they began setting up for the live entertainment they set up the restaurant like a lounge, which was so cute with the tables removed and lounge chairs added. A nice spot for date night or brunch with the girls.
We both agreed we’d be back for those summer nights we aren’t looking to cook. They have a Carvel and Italian bakery just next door so you can stop and get a little treat before going home. (bloom has desert as well)
Hope you come and patronize them they...
Read moreLocated on Metropolitan Ave, meter parking right outside with residential within walking distance. Store front establishment, nicely decorated interior with a theme of flowers. Very nice set up, bar area, and seating area with high tops, one sided booth areas, and regular chair/tables. We came on a Saturday night for 2 with a reservation. We were seated immediately right by the flower wall with the little bench swing.
Menu has different types of cuisines, offers vegan, vegetarian, and regular options. They have a separate drink menu and a menu with their weekly cocktail and dinner specials. I ordered the root bound and down cocktail which had a nice autumn-y flavor, apple spices too. We got the calamari appetizer and as we were starting to eat it, staff came by running a cable wire above the booth side of our table. My partner was sitting in the booth seat and unfortunately was sandwiched between two male staff for about 5 minutes as they figured out how to run the cable by that part of the wall and behind the flower wall. As they moved the flower wall around, a heavy amount of dust was coming out and on to our food, table, and drinks. My partner was visibly upset, as was I. They offered to move us to another table which we accepted and they had no problem replacing the drink and calamari that had the dust falling on it. The owner was extremely apologetic and upon learning it was our first time there and it was my birthday, he added free rounds of drinks, comped the dessert we got, and gave us a $25 gift card to use for a future visit.
We also got the midnight in Paris cocktail which was tasty and good alcohol content. For entrees we went off the specials menu, got the branzino and the shrimp linguini. The shrimp were overcooked but the pasta, sauce, artichokes, spinach, and asparagus with shaved parmesan were delicious. The branzino had a tomato base sauce on top; the fish was soft and tasted good, just a pinch of salt needed and it would have been a home run. The fish came with baby potatoes that had a charred taste and spinach that was delicious too. For dessert we went with the apple pie. I loved it, my partner felt it was a bit too sweet.
Around 10:30 pm Bloom started the Latin night. Variety of Spanish music, older, newer, salsa, bachata, merengue. They cleared the middle of the room for dancing and left tables surrounding for those who were still eating and/or having drinks. Most of the place ended up dancing at different points. This was a good experience and a good idea for a date night. The music is played by a DJ. I will return and look forward to an excellent experience from beginning to end.
