This is a big shame! I used to come here, almost religiously during my bike rides many years ago. Stopped in there recently and it’s understandable, given today’s economic times that they’ve hiked up their prices but to offer less than par service is quite disturbing. I TOLD THEM FOUR (4) TIMES NOT TO CUT MY SANDWICH! I have food allergies and intolerances and unless I’m using my own knife, I cannot trust their knife! I could not eat the sandwich! I told the cashier who was taking my order twice. I spoke clearly and slowly. When my order was ready, not only was the sandwich cut in half but it wasn’t even toasted! I had to wait another 5-6 minutes. When my order came out the second time the sandwich was cut again
I was beyond incensed at this point but was kind of in a rush, and starving, and did not want to wait another 6-7 minutes for my sandwich to be ready; I’m not spending an hour out of my day at a bagel shop ordering lol. Next order of business isthe side salad, at least offer something aside from a disgusting pickle! I can’t see myself going back there again, unless I am in the kitchen, watching every single move and/ or they refund me my money
 Very upsetting experience overall...

This should be a 5-star review hands down, because the folks here are as nice as can be and while the place is very popular to both locals and beach visitors, alike, the wait times are not that long.

Well, for bagels, they are not.

Every time I take the Rockaway ferry to Rockaway Beach, I stop here for a nice New York City Bagel, buttered, toasted with extra cream cheese. So, why the 3-star review? Because...

THEY ARE SELFISH WITH THE CREAM CHEESE!!!

Like, REAL Selfish. Dont take my word for it. Look at the pics!

I ask for EXTRA cream cheese. Does that look like EXTRA cream cheese to you? I even offer to pay for extra. They are always so selfish with it, like its coming out of the cook's check or something.

Very annoying!

Its NYC, so don't expect them to be cheap. A small cup of grapes, an OJ and a bagel cost me like $15 or something ridiculous.

It is what it is. What can you say?

Last thing: In the morning and on the weekends, especially, it can get really busy and crowded, so bring all of...

We zipped up from Windsor, Ontario for a fun, kid-friendly getaway to a place we had never been. ROCKAWAY BEACH was a hidden Gem. My first mission in New York was to sink my teeth into an epic bagel. Boardwalk Bagel? Absolute HOME RUN! This place was everything I hoped for when imagining what a NY bagel would be like —perfectly tucked near our hotel, it felt like strolling into a warm family gathering. The staff were all smiles, bending over backward to help with everything and making sure we left stuffed and happy. The bagel lineup? Unreal. And don’t get me started on the cream cheese—pure heaven in every schmear! They have tons of options too—drinks, fresh fruit, you name it. So much to love! We couldn’t stay away—ate there every single day, and one day we even doubled up! Huge shoutout to the amazing crew for sending us back to Windsor with a stash of their incredible bagels. If you’re anywhere nearby, you have to swing by Boardwalk Bagel....

I am grateful to say I’ve officially found my rockaway beach bagel spot. Steps away from the ocean, and most importantly, nyc authentic and delicious. The real icing on the cake for me was they career whole wheat everything flat and everything flat bagels, a rare find, and they were f’in perfect. The ratio of seasoning to bagel crust coverage was the best of the best, true perfection. The cream cheese selection was on point. The humble no frills vibe and family that runs it were welcoming and wonderful. I am excited to return here many many many times over the years. I tried the other boardwalk adjacent options, and this is the place. If you find yourself at 95th st area thinking “where could we grab a bagel”, do yourself a favor and take the 10 minute walk or 2 minute drive over here up down the boardwalk south.
