A colleague brought me here because WAS his regular lunch place. We arrived late for the meatball sub (no exceptions to be made), so I asked for a mix of the pre made deli salads. He doesn’t do mixes, can only get one dish at a time…. Ok, this was strike 2 on his ability to be flexible for a customer, but didn’t mean I’d judge the business poorly. out of respect for my colleague, I picked something healthy and thought I could be on my way. 3 steamed beets was drowning in sugar- he didn’t tell me they were sweetened, so actually very UNhealthy. Because the food was SO terrible and the service so RUDE and he actually overcharged me- this man gets the worst review from me. The only thing i feel good about is that the owner lost a customer: my colleague who was a regular. The owner didn’t even remember my colleague- so I guess he won’t be missing business from my company since none of us can be convinced to go anymore! What a Scrooge!
No seating, terrible customer service- save yourself and don’t bother. There are AMAZING authentic delis in brooklyn, this is not...
Read moreA hidden italian gem. It has an old world classic Brooklyn feel, like somewhere your italian grandma dragged you to as a kid or this place could be in the set of The Godfather. Real NYers will understand and appreciate it. As far as the sandwiches I didn't get the chance to try it yet, they were sold out. (Updated The sandwiches are ridiculously delicious they are worth the wait!! Lots of choices for the sandwiches. They have unbelievably fresh ingredients, everything home-made, and the bread is the classic Italian thick crusted brooklyn bread you can't get anywhere else.) The food I had was cooked and seasoned to perfection. I can tell from the ingredients Joe the owner (nice guy) knows what he's doing for sure. The broccoli rabe & Penne was perfection. The bacon Macaroni & cheese well anything with bacon is good but the cheesiness was great , flavors mixed well and pasta cooked perfect. Ill be coming back asap for a sandwich! Anyone in the area should...
Read moreThe gentleman working behind the counter at Brancaccio’s is a benevolent golden god. I was in the neighborhood on an errand and stopped in for a sandwich. I ordered the meatloaf with housemade ketchup and fontina cheese off the extremely charming, handwritten menus that I assume change regularly. They don’t need to worry about fancy signage though because the food speaks for itself.
When I refused a bag, the man smiled like he had a secret, then asked if like broccoli rabe and bacon (I do). He then gave me a SECOND SANDWICH completely on the house, refusing extra tip, and then chuckled “now do you need a bag?” I think he could tell, in his omniscience, that I had a rough spring and needed a win in June.
The sandwiches were phenomenal. Meatloaf was some of the tastiest I’ve ever had (don’t tell my mother!). Broccoli rabe and bacon with tomato was also excellent. Thanks to the entire team for a job well done, especially the arbiter of joy working the...
