My girl used to dine here as a child, often with her family. She hyped the place up and was very excited to live out her past. When we arrived, we were seated quickly. Our pizza came out within 5 mins of ordering which was extremely quick to which the server responded “I told them to rush it”. That was fine, as we were both starving. However the pizza looked sad. It was very soggy and the cheese had no pull. She took one bite and couldn’t finish the slice. There was no truffle flavor either. We realized that the pizza came out so fast because it was not freshly prepared and had been sitting already. We could be completely wrong about this but that was the impression the pizza gave us, due to the composition of the cheese. My girl sent it back and a fresh pie was made. It was much better than the original that was brought out however I was not blown away. I appreciate that the server and kitchen were accommodating in preparing a new pizza but it should have been right the first time. The photos online looked very good, and the recipes on the menu sounded delicious but I was disappointed. The bathroom had a cigarette smell to it. I noticed the sink was clogged and contained cigarette ashes. Dirty look if you ask me. Would I dine again, probably not. Pizza was a 5 out of 10. Shame because the place was talked up a lot and they even had signs boasting “award winning calzones” & “voted best wings in the country” which are bold statements.

Was feeling famished after 85 miles of cycling. Passed by here many times and always wanted to give it a try. The urge was unbearable today due to the stomach growls. Walked in and was going to order 2-3 slices but then was informed they only serve pies. “I can eat a horse” as the saying goes. So I’m game. Asked what was popular and was told “the Margherita Pie for $25.” After being told it only takes 5 minutes preparation. I’m sold! Fastest service ever. It only took 20 seconds for the pie to land in my hands after placing the order. One just came out of the oven and they decided to give it to me first since the customer hasn’t arrived yet. 🙏🏻🙏🏻 I picked up a slice right there and ate it on the way to the garage. By the time I placed the box in the front seat, I got to working on a 2nd slice . Pizza is really good. Thin crust and a bit of sweetness in the tomato sauce. The pizzas are cooked to order in a charcoal brick oven. I enjoyed the experience and devoured another 3 slices when I got home. It’s definitely better once it comes out of the oven hot. Job well done Grimaldi’s 👍👍.

GRIMALDI’S IS OPEN AGAIN!! Unfortunately, it doesn’t taste the way I remembered it before they closed. The pricing hasn’t changed and actually, it might be a little more due to inflation during the pandemic. I ordered a regular pizza with sausage and spinach, something I’ve ordered in the past when eating at Grimaldi’s and tried the meatball sliders. The total was $44. Yikes, right? The meatball sliders - pass. It was literally a meatball in a bun sprinkled with what looks like Parmesan cheese instead of mozzarella cheese as advertised. The meatballs were large though. The pizza, instead of packaged in a brown paper bag like before, is now in a box like other pizzerias. The pizza just doesn’t taste the same anymore. Maybe my taste buds are changing but I’m going to give them one more try. I do respect their protocol on social distancing and minimizing transmission. No dining in at the restaurant at all. You can do curbside pickup. Once you get to the restaurant, you call them to let them know you’re outside to pickup your order.

Okay, the people who wrote some three, two or one star reviews need to have a gut check. Grimaldi's is hands down the best pizza in the immediate area and therefore gets no less than four stars. Someone on here gave it three stars because you have to order a full pie, really? Or how about giving it three stars because they didn't cut your onions small enough as compared to the Hoboken location and their ingredients aren't as fresh (who says?). These reviewers need to take things in context before reviewing. I understand the low reviews because the owner or waiter is a douche, although I haven't experienced that. When you see a place like Luigi's or Gino's of Bayside get 4.5 to 4.8 and Grimaldi's getting sub 4 star reviews, you have to ask yourself who are these people and where is their palette? Grimaldi's prices are more than reasonable too, especially when you consider Gino's charges $18+ for a pie and $3.75 per topping, than Grimaldi's is a steal. You also have fault Yelp and Google because you should be able to give separate star reviews for service vs food taste and also offer decimals so you are not penalizing the place one full star for cutting your onion pieces too big. I guess it is the sign of the times and neighborhood demographics that have changed around here and the new people moving in are used to thick tasteless pizza that isn't brick oven. Grimaldi's is authentic Brooklyn brick oven pizza and not some wannabe pizza where they are run by anything other than the indigenous people of NYC. Get real NYC pizza by...

Man, goddamn was this some good pizza from the boxes presentation to the actual pizza the craftsmanship was excellent and the second you walk into the place you are like wow there is amazing decorations. The ambience is so warm and I honestly have no idea why these guys Have a single bad review. This pizza is so good that I would suggest that you get it and eat it as soon as possible as good as this pizza is it would be an injustice to order it for a delivery. You will not at all get the right idea of its greatness unless you live right next-door, get it how it’s meant to be. i ordered it for delivery before pickup and i knew it’d be a different monster picked up and let’s just say i ate the whole thing in my car, purely admiring the place. You guys are f ing fantastic!! i’m so quick to leave a bad review but im speechless at this place. If you are in queens, there’s nothing better than this in my opinion, definitely not that famous gabys place either. this is IT. For the best experience eat in or pick up and you will not regret it at all. you’d have to go into manhattan for this quality otherwise. SO F TALENTED, i heard the accents and knew i was in for a good time, you guys are the...
