So I booked this restaurant for my son’s first communion this weekend that just passed. I had about 30 people. I booked a package which. I get there and the first thing I notice is one my guest asked for water they bring her a bottle of water to charge her for it instead of them serving everyone water which that’s something restaurants should do. I had to ask the waitress can she please give my guest some water. My package included soda, tea and coffee. When I asked Waitress , can we get refills of soda she tells me my guest are only allowed one soda. I told her that was insane usually in packages like that drinks are unlimited. Besides that sodas were hot from the box. When we ask for ice they had an attitude. Moving on to the food, the food was cold and one of my guest found hair in the beans. My other guest found a piece of sponge in the beans that he had already put in his mouth. I told the waitress I was not paying for those dishes. When I saw the bill she was still charging me for one of the dishes. I proceeded to just pay the bill and not get confrontational. I didn’t get an itemized bill. She writes my balance on a post it. Then caught an attitude when I questioned it. That same afternoon I contacted the manager who was very helpful to explain the situation. We ended up speaking to the owner who I feel was trying to justify everything that had happened and was only willing to give us the money for that one dish they charged. I informed him we should at least give us what we put down as a deposit because the service was awful and the fact that we found hair and a piece of SPONGE in the beans. THAT’S UNACCEPTABLE!!! I was embarrassed with my guest. My son’s lunch was a disaster. My husband and I spend a lot of money on this. After all the back and forth we manage to get our deposit back. Too bad I can’t...
Read moreThe most disappointment in the service ever. I have been going to this restaurant before it expanded and it was great, however, when I returned today not only did we waited a good forty to 50 minutes for our food and one of the plates was served cold. But that was not all I asked for the bill and usually I just pay it, however, this time something didn't add up. I looked at the bill and the prices where different than the one on the menu specially the higher priced meal. The price on the menu was $28.50 and on the bill it was $31.50 + $12. When I asked the waiter he replied that on the menu it says that prices might change, that they barely make that dish and that we where serve a full filet mignon and thats why it was more but if you look at the picture attached, that was no full peace of fillet. I told him that he should had made me aware that they dont make it and it should not be on the menu as part of their specials, so I could had verified the price and see if it was worth it. I asked to speak to the manager and waited 20 minutes and no one came to the table, instead the waiter said that they could not reach the manager to come to speak with me. I replied, so you have no manager here and he reply no the one that is suppose to be in is not here. IF YOU GO HERE JUST BE AWARE OF WHAT YOU ARE BEING CHARGED FOR AND HOW MUCH, BECAUSE IT LOOKS LIKE THIS IS A COMMON PRACTICE THAT $12 TO $13 CAN BE ADDED TO ONE PRICE MEAL AND ANOTHER FEW IN THE...
Read moreCafe Rubio is legitimate in its food and the service. The food is always plentiful and fresh. As soon as you walk in, a friendly person will greet you and take your temperature to be safe during covid. The long bar is on the left and they had bar tables on the right which were empty due to covid. As you walk towards the rear, the place opens up. The ceiling doubles in height, and it resembles a sun room with the brightness of the day coming through the glass ceiling. The restaurant also opens up in width as well. They have elevated tables in certain locations as if it were a VIP area. If you make another right, it opens to another room for larger families to dine. Everything is spaced out for the pandemic. Rubio's food is always served fresh and to your liking. I always enjoy the skirt steak with tostones and rice and beans. It also is served with a fresh crispy mescaline salad that has a light touch of vinaigrette and is flavorful. The waiters and waitresses are always looking to see if everyone is satisfied with their meals. They also have an extensive drink menu and they are not cheap with the drinks. Then finally, the dessert which all look professionally made and delicious. If you want really goodnfood, with a nice variety and a Latin flare, nobody can...
