Caridad — Restaurant in New York

Went in today with my family to eat some food. My grandparents came from out of town and wanted to est here because they used to love the food and service here. Food has gone down flavor is not there any more, not bad but not as good as it used too be. Main issue and reason for the 1 start review is we got our food to go and in that food was the rest of my grandpa's salad when we got to the house and he went to eat the salad he bit into something and when he checked to see what it was it was a bunch of plastic that was put into the salad. Main concern is the plastic could have held raw food and the bacteria from the plastic could be threatening especially since its in my grandfather's food. The waitress that took care of us was nice but it took her a long time to get to us and get our orders and to do her job right but I figured its only because every one else was just hanging around chatting while she was probably the only one actually working. Save your money and go elsewhere. Service was HORRIBLE. I NEVER write reviews but, felt the need to this time. Party of 7 came to restaurant and there was literally only another table with 2 ppl. Place was empty on a Friday night. After waiting a considerable amount of time, the food we were served was cold...not even lukewarm. Each dish comes with a salad but, there was no dressing. I requested it TWICE. While my food got colder. It never arrived. I had to go to the front at which time server told me that her co worker was eating and that there was no one in the front to get me some oil & vinegar. Is that too much to ask for? She brought us plates with rice and beans, then after like 5 or 6 minutes, the cold steak which had to be sent back. We traveled from Miami and we had eaten here in the past but, the food and the service has greatly declined. It was definitely the most unpleasant dinning experience that I have ever had. Went in and asked for flan, 2 employees immediately started laughing and making fun of me to the point that the cashier told them to stop. That wasn’t cool. So unprofessional and stupid of them to do especially with what’s been going on in the world and community.
