UGH!!!!! I was eager to try this restaurant with a few of my friends but it was a total fail. Once seated, expect the waitresses to pass your table with no intention on taking your order, unless you flag them down. Once you do get ahold of a waitress, apparently you can't order drinks and food at the same time. Our waitress, JENNY, thought it was a good idea to take our food orders 15 minutes after bringing out our drinks which took long as is. I ordered a FROZEN watermelon margarita. What I recieved was a watery drink with some floating pieces of ice. Jenny said "It's because the machine kinda makes them that way and yeaa.... shes sorry but that's just how the "frozen drinks" come out in that particular machine". Um... -_- okay..... anyways I must admit the drinks tasted great. The owner came to check up on the table, we said the wait for the drinks and food was very long. He apologized and brought out a complimentary cheese and ham platter for the table. It was a nice and unexpected gesture. A few drinks in, the appetizers FINALLY came out. I mean the WRONG appetizers came out. We had ordered calamari and chicken croquettes. We got calamari and chicken wings. SMH.Jenny apologized for bringing out the wrong appetizer. The calamari was good. The chicken wings were okay. Shortly we got our entrees and complimentary drinks from Jenny. Again a nice and unexpected gesture but giving out free stuff does not excuse poor service. The food was okay. The meat tasted burned and the pasta chicken dish came with 2 small pieces of chicken.Whatever now it was just time to go. Again we had to flag down Jenny to ask for the check. She came with the check, brought us back our credit card and told us the mojito we had ordered (20 min ago) was on it's way. --- __ --- It was an overall unpleasant experience. Poor service, ehhh food, a little pricey, and good tasting watery frozen drinks. Oh yeah and Jenny could be a little nicer. Throughout the time there she made some not so...
Read moreIt was our first time out to eat after this whole covid thing and we figured we give Carro a try. It was a total of 4 adults and 2 kids with thw intention of having a great time with great food and drinks. Epic fail! It took forever to have someone wait on us. When Jenny the waitress finally decided to take the order she only took it for the drinks. We waited....waited.....and waited some more until she finally came over with 2 of the 3 drinks that of which were ordered frozen and weren’t. We said, “This was supposed to be frozen”. She said, “Oh yeah, the machine needs to be on for longer (something like that)”. She blamed it on the machine. Either way, you don’t just bring the customer whatever, you let the customer know it can’t be done and let him/her decide whether or not they want it. Don’t just bring whatever you want to and expect the customer to eat/drink it without so much as acknowledging the mishap. I do have to say the drinks were awesome..Kudos to the bartender! She finally took the food order and made it seem as though (insane wait time just for her to take the order) she could memorize it. Again, epic fail! She brought wings instead of croquettes and maduros instead of tostones. The owner brought over a complimentary cheese/salami tray and later free drinks as well which is appreciated because it shows acknowledgement but at the same time doesn’t excuse the poor service throughout our WHOLE time there. It wasn’t just 1 mistake, it was plenty and throughout the entire time we were there. My steak tasted burnt, two little pieces of chicken on the to-go meal. We know it’s busy but c’monnnn this was just ongoing and extremely disappointing enough that I’m actually taking the time out to write a review which I never do! Overall, a very mediocre experience. The drinks were...
Read moreLove this place! The environment is great for people who want to have a great time, enjoy music, and NOT concern about young crazy kids getting into drunk fights! Not that there are no younger folks, just people who aren't looking for trouble. Last night we had empanadas, which were amazing! They were golden and perfectly cooked. Crispy outside, meaty and soft center, great seasoning, and very good portions! Not on the small side at all. The green salad has an amazing balsamic dressing. It's a bit on the sweet side, but a very nice contrast to the freshly grated parmesan cheese they give which is conveniently on the side for those who prefer not to have it. The dinner ordered was flank steak, medium well. Excellent portion, worth the price! This part was a bit inconsistent as my husband's was perfection! Buttery soft meat, just under with salt (as is the norm for restaurants), perfect amout of herbs. The second was a bit tougher but not much. Slightly over cooked, and the bottom had a bit of charred crispy surface on one end. Normally this wouldn't be bad on a cut of steak, but not what I expect on a churrasco. Just an oops this time I guess. The chimi sauce for the meat was okay. Rice and beans were standard for restaurant. Next time I would love to try the seafood dishes as they smell exceptional when those platters pass by! On previous visits I've had tostones, wings, and calamari all perfectly cooked. Never had a cocktail. The bottles here are also priced quite nicely in comparison to other bar/lounges. The DJ is also very good! They have a bit of dancing space as well if you are the type to get down. Def...
