Chiflez — Restaurant in New York

THE SERVICE HERE IS ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!! 0 STARS IF I COULD!!! I am never the type to write reviews about any place especially negative reviews but the service at this establishment was absolutely horrendous. I went to dine with my friends and sister the dine in experience was subpar to say the least food was dry and lacked flavor. And the waiter LORENA was rushing us to order the whole time even tho the restaurant was not busy. We didn't complain we paid our bill and left. Not even 30 minutes later my sister noticed her red evil eye bracelet was missing so we decided to go back to the restaurant since we were close by to retrieve it. We arrived and asked politely if they had seen a red evil eye bracelet the waiter LORENA said that the cleaning man had already tossed it out. She then pretended to go to the back and look for but said the garbage had already been taken out so there was nothing she could do. I obviously got upset because that bracelet has a lot of meaning to my sister since it was gifted to her. I told LORENA to please explain why they would do that. LORENA then proceeds to tell me with a disgusting attitude that they are only able to hold things for 2 hours or so if it's gold or something more expensive if not they just toss it out that includes hats shirts anything like that. She also said the cleaning man had asked her what to do with it and she told him she didn't know so he tossed it. So obviously that upset me I then asked to speak to the manager and LORENA and the other waiter JIMMY said he wasn't in. I asked for his phone number and once again LORENA goes to the back for 5 minutes and all of a sudden she brings back my sister's bracelet. It was very apparent she didn't care to look the first time until I asked for her manager. LORENA AND JIMMY then proceeded to basically yell at me saying they didn't do anything wrong because now I had the bracelet not even an apology nothing just yelling. I told them that the fact they lied about even looking was the disgusting part. I did speak to the manager earlier and did explain that even if the bracelet isn't expensive they shouldn't have tossed it like that. It has a very deep sentimental value. And for them to only value things like gold is disgusting. It shows a lot about what type of establishment this place is and the values they hold. Manager was extremely rude because i walk in with an outside beverage while i was seated ready to order (with the drink on the side) instead of politely telling me that i have to put it on the side or in a bag, he told us that i have to put it on a bag or walk out because "this is a restaurant" and we dont know in what conditions that drink was made. It is a shame since i been telling my colombian about ecuadorian food and hospitality and i been meaning try this place for a while but this made our experience awful . It is not what you say its how you say it. luckily there was a nice waitress that made us change our minds before leaving. But it is a shame that this is my gf first experience with Ecuadorian food and "hospitality" i literally said to the waitress that we would stay if that punk doesn't come near our table . I'm not saying he was wrong . He was just extremely Rude and entitled. Me personally i've worked in the restaurant bussines for over in year in Manhattan in several renowned restaurants and i have never encounter such rudeness. My girlfriend was saying the vendors over warren were waaaaaay nicer to us that he was ,so i guess this is my advice to people get your Ecuadorian food on warren St. You'll have a better experience. We went to this place following an add from Instagram. This is a scam. Food has nothing to do with the add. The food was terrible. The salchipapa had just a few salchichas cut in 4, very tick. We also asked for the Picada de mariscos, it had only pieces of fish, lots of calamaries and a couple of shrimps. Not very well cooked and really poor for $36. The worst part was the order of chicharron(pic below), it came late and raw, we could even taste the flavor of the fish of the oil! disgusting. We asked the girl to cook it better, she forgot and never came back. Then we decided to leave and asked for the check. We asked the girl that we didn’t want the order of chicharron anymore because it was raw. She left it in our table and the check came with it included. We asked to remove it but she said that they can cooked it again but not remove it. We paid for it and left it in the table, it was only $5 and didn’t want to make a big trouble for it.
