If I could give this place a minus 5 rating I would I ordered an egg salad sandwich via Uber eats at 11:40 am on a Sunday. It took this place an hour before they managed to make the sandwich. It took 35 minutes via the driver to get the sandwich. So I received the an Oder 1.5 hours from placing it (I live 2 miles away from the restaurant- not 50 miles away and I ordered an egg salad sandwich not an elaborate roast). When I opened it, I had a completely different sandwich I called the shop The person who picked up the phone told me to send him a picture of the sandwich and he would refund me I called back after sending the photo and a different person answered the phone The new person told me he didn’t know what I was talking about that there is no refunds and I need to fight with Uber eats I asked why the first person told me to take a picture - response was that the first person doesn’t understand Uber eats- the 2nd person understands Uber eats (this was bordering on ridiculous at this point) Ok Then my husband got on the phone and the person said they gave the Uber driver the wrong order. They were going to send me the correct sandwich now. 2.25 hours after it was ordered initially I asked my husband to call them and find out how it was being sent? Response from corner cafe; they are not sending it and I can call Uber eats and try to get my money back from them They took no responsibility. They took a passive aggressive stance I suppose they feel they have enough customers that they can afford to treat some people with contempt and lose customers. Fair enough I have been a steady customer and while they are very expensive have found that most of their food while expensive - even for kosher food - is good but customer service is always bad. When I go to the store and order something to go I always check the order and unwrap stuff before I leave as they make constant mistakes and I had that happen to me a few times so I check my order before leaving the store and have them fix their mistakes but today’s behavior was not acceptable. While the food is good it is expensive and this type of behavior from a vendor isn’t right or acceptable. There are other restaurants who if they make a mistake usually try to fix it or help the customer and don’t tell the customer to fight it out Lunch should be enjoyable experience and not a tense...
Read moreI ordered online a Sandwich on Friday, and they only closed at 1pm on Fridays but I ordered at 12:30pm, but when I got to the store to pick up my order at 12:45pm, they told me that they are closed and that they are not even going to make my Sandwich, even though I ordered it half-an-hour before closing time. They told me to come back on Sunday and tell the boss to give me another Sandwich. I came back on Sunday, and told them that I paid already on Friday for a Sandwich, and they didn't believe me, until I proved it to them, and then there was NO APOLOGY AT ALL!!!! I asked for at least a credit-note or something after I didn't eat AT ALL on Friday, because everywhere else was closed by then and they were still open, but they couldn't care less!!! Amazing food but TERRIBLE service!!! Maybe now they would AT LEAST apologize, or maybe even give me a credit-note after all that headache!!! And their workers...
Read moreThis place is a disaster, I don't understand how they are in business. Went by today (it's near my office) to revisit despite multiple bad experiences. It was not busy, I ordered an onion soup to go, and was handed a number card that they said they'd call out once it was ready. I waited for 15 minutes, before going to the counter and noticed my soup was sitting on the counter behind the register. I asked one of the two workers who were there chatting if it was mine, he apologized and handed it to me. Unsurprisingly it was cold, and tasted bad (I warmed it). It cost 8 dollars after tax. This was not as bad as the time I waited 20 minutes for a black iced coffee, and maybe worse than when I was given a regular omelette when I ordered whites and was given no utensils (it was to go). Down the block from my office or not I will...
