First of all, me being Korean, I do not know anything about Yemeni's food. I went to this restaurant because my friend recently went here and felt in love with this restaurant. I was surprised to find that there was not a single review on yelp. We ordered lamb and chicken haneed. Before the main dish came out, we were served with this soup. all my friends liked soup but It was just okay for me. Next thing was mixed salad which I thought it was very fresh and refreshing with squeeze of lemon. Also, we got hummus with sauce to dip in it and I liked this. Main dish however, I was not a big fan of it. Again, maybe this is the way this dish supposed to be but I felt like they overcooked the meats. From what I know, this dish is supposed to be cooked in oven for long period of time and meats supposed to be very juicy and moist. This was not the case. Meats were very dried. Good thing about lamb though, it did not have any kind of typical lamb smell to it so I was able to eat it. Portion was ehhh... we paid $200 for party of 5 and amount of meat which they gave us was laughable to me. Not worth $200 at all. Service wise, do not expect any kind of friendly service from this place. Looks like they will included tip in the bill for party of 5 or more which I am okay with it only if there was proper service. Overall, food was okay but bit pricey for amount of meat they give you. Would love to try Yemeni's food again but maybe from...
Read moreAbsolutely loved this place. Totally worth of money.
I always have a fascination for the Middle eastern dishes and visited this Yemenite restaurant today for lunch.
First of all this is my first time trying out Yemenite dishes and was not familiar with the dishes so the owner suggested me trying the “Mandi lamb”. I wanted to order more food but it was really nice of him to suggest me taking one dish first because their serving quantity is very generous.
Their serving time is super fast. The Mandi lamb comes with rice, salad and a lamb stew on the side. The lamb pieces were really big and the best part was, the lamb was just seasoned and cooked sooo perfectly! It was coming out of the bone right away. Mixing it with the lamb stew just made the dish more flavorsome.
The quantity served was pretty good for two person but still we ordered half chicken with rice. The chicken was also amazing, but the lamb was the star today.
The owner was super nice and really welcoming. The food was really affordable compared to the taste and serving size. Totally...
Read moreWe have tried their food multiple times. It's best when you dine in. They give you a big portion of rice, and meat is fresher. We love their lamb/chicken haneeth. Lamb/chicken mandi and grilled salmon.
We have taken a takeout a couple of times. First of all, the rice portion is less compared to what they serve you in restaurant, and meat wasn't fresh both time, sadly. Meat was dry, felt warmed up, and went bad in fridge in one night.
I hope they serve equally good quality food for dining in and taking out customers.
Parking is a bit hard around them. Restaurant is usually clean. Mostly men are sitting there to eat, so it doesn't give you a family Restaurant vibes. bit, we went in with family multiple times, and the staff was kind, friendly, and...
