El Nuevo Carribeno — Restaurant in New York

I ordered a delivery came out to 39$ I was fine with that I specifically asked for extra lemon with my chicken when my food arrived I tipped the delivery man as one should and asked him if everything was inside he said yes I go to eat my chicken and French fries and their is not one ketchup packet not even one slice of lemon so I immediately call the restaurant the female that answered was blaming the guy for not telling her but she said she would fix it I wait ten minutes and decide to call the delivery man he said he was never told to bring me the lemon and ketchup so I called back now the man who actually took my order is on the phone now I explain to him what happened and he said at first no you never ask for lemon I said yes I specifically asked for extra lemon and then he said no no but my phone record phone calls so I told him do I need to show up to the restaurant and play you back the recording where I ordered extra lemon and then he said yeah I think you did order extra lemon actually I put it on the paper as a matter of fact I put it in the bag it has to be there I look in every bag no lemon no ketchup so I told this guy first the lady is blaming you then the delivery guy told me the truth you guys weren't sending me any of the condiments while my food is getting more cold and I tipped and then you're telling me I didn't order it then you said I did I mean the food is average my mother owns restaurants Spanish restaurants all throughout Manhattan and I don't think there's any excuse for not fixing the problem there shouldn't have been to begin with if you use common sense.if someone orders french fries throw in ketchup packets and when someone orders (chicharron) little Fried Chickens and they specifically say extra lemon I mean it comes with lemon anyways make sure the order is complete.I had to eat this dry food while these alleged grown-ups enjoy my money and give horrible customer service, no one owned up to the mistake no one even said sorry no one found a way to fix the mistake so my suggestion is DONT GO HERE DONT ORDER HERE and if you decide that you're okay with OK food make sure you tell them like 20 times exactly what you want call them back and make sure that they have it right because apparently people who work in this restaurant don't know how to throw a lemon and ketchup packets in with chicken and...

This USED to be one of my favorite restaurants in my old neighborhood. I've been eating there for many years. The food and service has always been good BUT I went there for dinner with my husband on 6/23/23 and Carribeno fell off completely!! The service was bad because of this young waitress they had working there. We had to keep reminding her about what we had ordered. She brang the wrong soda over, then she brang out our meat and had us waiting for a while for our rice while she talked to other customers. When she finally bought the rice over SERVED SUPER MESSY!! Rice all over the edges of the plate and deep indents in the center as if it was done purposely or like if a child had served it. And when I looked to see who was at the counter serving the rice, it was another super young girl. We had to wait another few minutes for the beans which had more sauce and very little beans. And by the time the beans came the steak was already getting cold. The place wasn't even packed! About four tables were occupied. When it was time for the check, we had to keep reminding her can you please bring the check like three times. Its a shame because the Carribeno I remember, the experienced waitresses paid attention to detail, they were attentive, they were very professional, dressed neatly in their black shirts & pants, shirt tucked in etc. This girl had one flap of her gray blouse hanging out of her pants, she just looked like she didn't care about her appearance or what she was there to do. Its going to be a long time before I go back. This experience left a bad taste in my mouth. If I ever do go back HOPEFULLY these kids won't be working there anymore. VERY DISAPPOINTED!!! Last night I placed a food order with a Spanish restaurant El Nuevo Carribeno for myself my sons and 86 year old mom. After living in this community for over 6 decades and the restaurant being in business for many years have never complained about the quality of the food untill last night when I find mouse droppings in a cup of white rice. I was so angry because it’s enough how expensive their food is but to have mice droppings ? I had no choice but got it a bad review files gormsl complaint with the department of health and report this restaurant . For those who are not aware mice or rodent droppings carry viruses , can cause a person to be extremly ill or require hospitalization for anyone especeslly to the young and elderly. I care about the community I live with and its residents so I will comity to having this restaurant reported to get cleaned up for the sake of the community . Truly disappointed and disgusted . I don’t know who the owner is but the man I spoke to regarding a catered thanksgiving dinner was extremly rude and haggled me for more money the mash potatoes were horrible last time I ordered a mogonho with pernir there was no penir . This place needs to shut down get cleaned up and get a new chef . Their hospitality is truly lacking .
