Baked Cravings — Restaurant in New York

At last! School safe nut-free cupcakes in Manhattan! Are they good? You Bet. Are they comparable/better than Elenis? Absolutely! Since Eleni's closed (you can only order cookies from their website), Baked Cravings is the only nut-free cupcake facility in New York City. I went on a wild goose chase to find an approved vendor for nut-free cupcakes for little one's birthday with her class, and I was beyond surprised how amazing they tasted and ordered a dozen more on top of my order.

I want to add that I was referred to Baked Cravings from a fellow parent on the biggest online mommy group. Parents who relied on Eleni's for their nut-free certification were unaware the store closed and many who gave me names of other stores were falsely under the assumption they were nut free. Rather, "nut aware" or "nut free as much as possible" means they cannot guarantee 100% and thus did not meet school's nut-free policy for bringing in birthday cakes/cupcakes.

Nonetheless I was sad to see the closed sign on Eleni's door in Chelsea Market. Our school told us the only school safe cupcakes were ones packaged by Treasure mills sold at supermarkets. I think these are made in Canada far from locally fresh baked. I just wish landlords collectively stop decimating small businesses by exorbitantly raising rents. And me and some other moms were disappointed that Eleni's having monopoly on the nut-free cake market, thus knowing some of their customers were parents of little children with life-threatening nut allergies, could have done the unaltruistic deed by directing their website with alternatives.

In the meantime, our school was excited to pass on Baked Cravings to parents looking to bring in cupcakes for their kids birthday celebrations. I passed around the extra cupcakes I bought on the spot and every single one said the cupcakes were of perfect texture and...

I'm a huge fan! They have been getting me through corona lockdown lol. I absolutely love their interesting menu with a home bakery flavor / feel to it. Handmade with love.

Everyone has been very nice that I've come across at the bakery which is an added bonus

My favorite flavors: Choc buttercream with vanilla base and sprinkles(your traditional bday cake vibes) Banana cupcake with banana buttercream (very lovely) and strawberry shortcake (fresh and sweet strawberry base and frosting). An absolute flavor explosion. I love that it's also gluten free and they have GF options

I also think the buttercream here is not TOO sugary / overly sweet like some other shops around town I've tried like Magnolia / Sprinkles franchises just dump a whole bag of sugar and it gives me a toothache and has no flavor. I respect the quality and taste that Baked Cravings produces. one of my top 2 favorite cupcake store in Manhattan.

Prices are $2.50-3.50 per cupcake. Cheaper than many other shops and these are large in size.

Tip: Make sure to microwave your cupcakes 5-8 seconds before serving for a fluffy buttercream as their frosting tends to be rock hard from...

All of the negative reviews are petty and misguided. As someone new to food allergies (never had nut allergy before until last year), this place is a godsend. I can’t tell you all the number of times I’ve felt left out because I can’t just order from anywhere anymore due to cross contamination. This is a safe place for people with nut/ coconut allergies and the treats are tasty and delicious. Delivery has been punctual and correct so far. The brownies are heaven. The last time I had brownies was 2021 so imagine how happy I am that I found a delicious and reliable baked goods place! And of course they be having chicken and all of that and that’s good also because us people with food allergies can’t even order steak sometimes at restaurants due to some of the seasonings containing nuts (aka pink peppercorn), so this place is gold. Sweet treats and savory food! Further, we all listen to loud music with nasty language WE ALL DO. What’s the problem with someone who’s cleaning to close up for the day listening to some of it? Like I said, the negative reviews are petty as f… the food is great!...
