Elegant — Restaurant in New York

I have been ordering from this place for years the house i live in is a two story home and some how the old guy who drives the food got mad i tip him 4 dollars and started yelling at me saying last time i didnt tip i told him i always tip him hes like the other lady didnt i told him thats not my problem what the first floor lady tips i live in the second floor he didnt want to give me my food so i had to go upstairs and get 5 more dollars i then proceeded to tell him okay take the 5 for tip but give me the 4 dollars back because there is no way he will be getting almost 10 in tip he then starts screaming at me and saying things in his language and walks out of the front porch i then proceed to call the restaurant asking for a boss and was told they werent there now today i called to place an order for delivery in which there flyer says free over an amount and the lady on the phone i guess recognized my address and phone number out of all the years of ordering with them tells me “hey by the way one dollar extra to that amount because your kinda far the dollar is for the gas” NEVER HAS THIS BEEN TOLD TO ME mind you guys its a 8 min drive like what i dont mind the dollar but its crazy how it takes them 30-40 mins to deliver the crazier part is how there delivery guy whos in a car excepts over 5 dollar tip as if they dont pay him a salary aside from that hes in a car some delivery guys are in bikes and dont except tips i thought tips were out of the heart and required on how the customer is feeling not being forced and than walking always with 9 dollars i would gladly give those 9 to a guy in a bike they just lost a loyal customer i hope the get rich off...

I miss China House so much! I cook regularly, but when I’m sick or far too tired to cook I could order from them and trust that the quality and taste of my food would be on point. They were consistent. Apparently, they closed during the pandemic. When I called their number Elegant Chinese picked up the call saying they are the same thing. I ordered hopeful that maybe they had the same chef or something. Big mistake. They are definitely not the same thing. The food to me is bland and tasteless. The fried chicken and rice is tasteless and the quality is lacking. I also tried their chicken and broccoli in garlic sauce as it is my daughter’s favorite. She’s five and only took two bites before pushing it aside saying it tastes bad. If elegant is indeed related to the owners of china house in anyway you should hire their old chef/cook and borrow some of their high quality business practices. Like actual containers with lids instead of putting saucier dishes in cardboard cartons that become a mess...

If you need quick chinese food, then this is the place for you, and not really for those who want to dine in, they have not any tables just chairs for you to sit and wait for the food. If you going to order from here, they ONLY TAKE CASH, yes, just an FYI. They menu is quite extensive but worth looking over, there Is always some dish suitable for someone.
