Charging $.30 for Mayo and ketchup mixed together is like me selling water and charging $.30 for the cup…. The napkins were free though. The napkins were free.
Since I’m unable to reply to the owner comment,I’ll just edit mine. You’re right running a business is part of making tough decisions which means that your customer health and safety should be number one priority. I walked in there and didn’t see one sign related to allergy, even though the condiment that you make is made with mayo which contains eggs. Customers health should always be top priority and because the sauce that you make is made with mayo, I’m allergic to eggs which is why I asked for just ketchup. Nothing should be free and I’m not saying it should be. But if I make a purchase, then I expect some type of condiments that come with that purchase. I know I’m welcome to choose where I spend my money, and if I knew that health and safety was not your top priority I would have never came here. I’d rather support businesses where they prioritize their customers health and safety. Taking pride in the food you make is great. I did not say the food was awful I actually rated the food at four star so it’s not about the food. It’s about the way you choose to deal with customers and not caring about their health. Your response to my message says a lot about your character as a business woman which also validate my message to be true. You should always take pride in customers health and safety as well. As a matter of fact that should be #1. Take this as a lesson. Don’t look at this as a bad review because if I wanted to be evil, I would’ve bought the sauce for $.30 had allergic reaction and...
Read moreMix up with order. I ordered 2 beef & a pastelon empanada. I placed an additional order of 2 veggie pastelon empanadas. Inside the bag were 3 grouped together and then 2 grouped together. Shame on me for assuming the orders were bagged according to how i placed them. I was under the assumption the 2 grouped together were part of the 2nd order (veggie pastelon). Wrong! They put all the pastelons (1) beef and (2) veggie and (2) beef empanadas together. Turns out I had to take the actual empanada out of the bag and look for the imprinted labels. Needless to say when ordering for a group of people you might want to place separate orders because otherwise someone has to physically touch your food and search for imprinted labels to determine what each empanada contains. Wasted my money because the other party I ordered for had already touched what he thought was his food and I took a bite of the beef empanada and had to spit it out cause I do not eat meat. Won't be returning to this place in the future. A simple labeling on the bag of empanadas could rectify all future misinterpretations. Overall empanadas taste good (from previous experience). Actual restaurant was clean and inviting. Only issue is with their organization for take-out orders. I was left with no food to eat, hence the 1 star....
Read moreThe purpose of this review is not to hate or harm this restaurant in any way, shape, or form. That being said, I hope you take this review as an informative review.
Atmosphere: Spacious space with decent seatings. There are also tables out when it's summertime. Not too clean as some customers leave trash behind and employees take long to clean it.
Service: Acceptable.
Food: These are definitely much better empanadas than others I've tried. However, they're certainly not the best. I ordered the Bacalao, Shrimp, Veggie Pastelon, Mixed Vegetables, and the Apple Pie empanadas. They mark their empanadas' dough with letters for easy flavor recognition. All of them were alright. However, none of them really hit that point of worthiness, considering their size and price. Oh, if you want a sauce, you'll have to buy it. Something that in other places is included with your order.
Price: Honestly, the quality is kind of noticeable. However, the flavors are not exactly there. The flavor part does not justify their prices, at least for the signature empanadas. Perhaps the traditional ones...
