Little Shop of Soil — Local services in New York

came in around 6pm 8/18 and was greeted by 2 extremely welcoming and helpful staff - in all honesty i was stoned out of my mind and i had a plethora of random specific questions and curiosities about soil, repotting and plant care in addition to also wanting to purchase a hanging plant. both employees were rly thorough and animated in their answers which i found super helpful and neither were condescending or acted like they wanted me to go away lol. the selection of plants here is stunning and they also have a lot of really beautiful pots, accessories, trinkets and more - really everything u could want at a plant store. will definitely be returning here as i found it to be one of the more helpful and personal experiences i’ve had at a plant shop...

I would give this place 10 stars if I could. A year ago I had never owned a plant in my life, and I stumbled into Little Shop on Starr Street. The rest is history!

Now, I have 20+ plants and counting and am a thriving plant dad. While there are many stores with plants, I come back to Little Shop because the service and experience is unparalleled. In particular, Makayla has been a HUGE help. Makayla's passion and encyclopedic knowledge for plants is evident, and their genuine desire to make customers happy shines through in every interaction. Makayla is the most talented salesperson I have ever encountered, and I've already filled up two "Frequent Planter" cards as a result. Can't wait to fill up my third :)

I came in wanting a plant to add to my smaller space and not knowing much else. Immediately Richard helped out, asking what kind of light, what exposure, what I like and offered his favorites

As someone that really didn't know plants as much, this was such a great help to be able to find something that spoke to me, but have the expertise as well. The store was organized by how much light planets needed too, which I found to be so clever.

The personal help was the best touch, it's clear it's not just a job, but a calling for the employees and Richard has such a passion to find the right plant and the right place so everything thrives. I'll definitely be back when I...
