Last night we dined here, and the front desk was staffed by an Asian lady who proactively spoke to us in Chinese when we ordered. She also provided us with hot water, plenty of utensils, sauces, and napkins, making us feel very welcomed. That's why we came back today. This time, the front desk was handled by an Asian girl. Assuming she could speak Chinese, we placed our order in Chinese, but she said she didnāt understand, so we switched to English. Later, when our food was ready, since we had our baby with us, we asked if she could rinse our baby's bowl with water. She reluctantly did so, and we still politely thanked her. There were three of usļ¼2 adults and 1 baby) and we ordered two kinds of noodlesļ¼but she only gave us one pair of chopsticks on the tray and didnāt provide any sauces or napkins. While we were eating, we often caught her strangely staring at us. At the end of the meal, we cleared the table ourselves, threw all food waste into the trash bin, and kept the trays clean. I picked up some beef noodle soup and fried pork celery dumplings, and wow, they totally hit the spot on a chilly winter evening! āļøš„¢
The noodle soup was expertly seasoned and served at just the right temperature. The beef was melt-in-your-mouth tender, soaking up all the delicious flavors of the braised broth. And those dumplings? š½ļø Crispy on the outside with a variety of flavorful fillingsāthey added a delightful crunch to my meal!
If you find yourself nearby and unsure of where to dine, I highly recommend giving Emperor Dumpling a try. Comforting and savory are definitely the keywords here! šāØ #NYCEats #ComfortFood...

That said, far from the best dumplings and fried rice you can get in Manhattan, let alone NYC. Chicken fried rice was on the oily side and not particularly flavorful. Vegetable dumplings were good, again, a little on the bland side and doughy, though they didnāt skimp on filling. Perfectly cromulent.
