This hotel has a very cozy aged old feel going for it which would be charming if it wasn’t tired and needed a refit or vamp. There are scoffs everywhere, soiled material on chairs iron marks on carpets, dust in every cranny. My stay here this time around was noisy, had to change rooms twice. The ac/heater works in a weird way where it either heats up/cool the room to the required set temperature then shuts off until it gets cold/warm again before it repeats your setting. This leaves you going hot and cold, it was not comfortable at all. The AC itself is also very loud so while it’s on there is no peace. Because of the time of year the bathroom is very very cold, I almost did not use it. I had to blast the heating and open the bathroom door for about an hour. The hotels restaurant kitchen has been burnt down for weeks now and no food is available in-house. On the other hand, the staff are absolutely amazing and will do what they can to help you have a better stay! Cannot fault the service

Nice hotel at affordable price to be in the middle of everything we wanted to see, although parking was disgustingly expensive and away from the hotel. Staff was very nice and greeted us well, breakfast at the hotel restaurant was very good and affordable and quite charmingly decorated. The room was super small with an awful view of a back alley, but hey we paid for it, although it was clean and the bathroom too. Hated the bathroom huge hollow sink with no counter space when it’s already such a small space, they should rethink that part. For a short stay, I would book here again.

One of the best hotels I’ve stayed. You can’t beat the location - it’s next to the iconic Chrysler building. Times Square, Empire State Building, Central Park - everything is in walking distance. The hotel is very cozy, it gives you a feeling being home away from home. Rooms are beautifully decorated, spacious (to NYC standards), and very clean. Staff is friendly. Lots of eating options next door - a pub, Five Guys, Wendy’s, 99 cents pizza, pharmacy, etc. What else do you need when staying in one of the best cities on Earth? I will definitely stay at Fitzpatrick again.

What a hotel. We stayed in this hotel twice before as a couple but this was our first time as a family of four and I can say it’s honestly gotten even better.||From the moment we checked in until the minute we left all of the staff we met were warm, welcoming, attentive and polite to our family. Gave teddy bears to our children, asked about our plans for the day and even made suggestions on where to visit. Everyone from the room cleaners, bar staff and front desk were superb.||The building is old but filled with charm, the lobby is beautiful and while the elevators are a bit old and slow they too are beautifully decorated with marble floors. It feels like a proper old world manhattan hotel.||The rooms were very clean and surprisingly modern for an older building, the bathrooms seem to have been updated recently enough and rooms came with modern steamers for clothes instead of irons. Returning to this hotel after a long day in the city felt comforting. The bar felt like a proper Irish pub and we found ourselves returning to it time and time again.||The absolute highlight however came when we left our child’s favourite toy at the hotel when we were on our way to the airport. The manager arranged a Taxi to pick it up and have it delivered to Newark even including some extra teddy bears and crisps for the kids. He went well beyond what he had too to rectify the situation.||It’s little touches like this that makes the Fitzpatrick our first choice. Honestly the hotel punches well above its weight in terms of price when it comes to service. It’s also in an excellent location to explore the city. ||I don’t think we will ever consider staying anywhere else in New York other than the Fitzpatrick. Well managed and well maintained it’s an absolutely little...

Had an amazing stay here a few years ago, but this hotel has changed completely since then. This was literally the worst hotel stay of my life. I was in town for cancer treatment. A family in a neighboring room recorded a private phone conversation (not legal) and took it to manager to say I was loud. Earlier, I overheard the parents telling the children (who a few hours earlier were screaming and chasing one another in the hallways and I almost fell over them) they wanted to see what they could get for free. My room had a ton of construction noise and the manager refused to move me or provide earplugs. Later that evening, I went down to ask to leave due the the unbearable noise. In the end they gave me a louder room with flight attendants who were up all night pounding up above. The next day the night time woman was still there and she told the other front desk that I had given the family a 25% discount, but when I saw what she looked like I made it 50!" They laughed and ridiculed my appearance. Another employee had a recoding on his phone playing that sounded like me talking, and when I asked about this upon leaving I might as well have been in the Bronx because the other front desk woman starting dpeaking to me as if I was in a inner city movie about to be beaten up As I was getting up she changed her face and bust out laughing at me, like highschool kid. This was the worst treatment of my life and they put reports about me into the computer system and another database. CANCER PATIENTS DO NOT STAY HERE!! They should be ashamed of their...

I so much wanted to return from this hotel confident that I had made a good choice and able to recommend it to friends and colleagues.|It’s been 20 years since my last visit to New York and I reckon that around then this hotel would have been exemplary …. now I’m afraid it’s long past its glory days.|It’s a real pity because its location is hard to beat, around the corner from Lexington Avenue and Grand Central .|The staff are friendly and welcoming , shout out to Sophie and Geoff on reception .|I kinda feel sorry for for these hard working staff, from reception , bar to cleaners because if its obvious to me that this place is run down and in need of serious investment then what is happening to staff morale?|The public areas look tired and worn.|The bar area is actually quite characterful, lots of dark wood and little booths.|Our room on the 9th floor while large would be near the top of the queue if/when the money is spent .|The aircon is supplied by a wheeled stand alone unit which is seriously noisy.|The power points in the room ( we could only fund one that wasn’t been used for TV/lamp) were old 3 point ones which would not hold our two pin adapters in place( they fell out of the wall)|The plug in the bathroom sink was stuck in the closed position and had to be prised open.|We returned one day at after 4 pm to find the room hadn’t been serviced although we met the lady cleaner nearby and she apologised .|We had a meal one evening which was pretty good and breakfast was good.|I want to return but I fear a for sale sign may be...
