Erin's Isle — Restaurant in New York

Every time we would drive past Erin's Isle we would say we have to check that place out...well, we finally made it there. And I am so glad we did! The atmosphere is friendly and homey. The staff is so welcoming that we felt like we had been dining there for years. Loved the piano player, he really contributed to the atmosphere in a positive way. Cocktails were good, the Cosmo was probably one of the best I've had. For apps we had baked clams & stuffed zucchini flowers. The clams were tender & flavorful. My husband really enjoyed the zucchini flowers, I thought they were good but a little too oily. For entrees, I had chicken parm with spaghetti (my go to in any Italian restaurant I've never been to before) and I thought it was fantastic. (So now next time I will be more adventurous lol) The chicken was tender and both the chicken and the sauce were well seasoned. The portions are generous, so I ended up taking some home and it did not go to waste! Tom had the Seafood Combo (fra diavolo), which he said was delicious - no doggie bag there! Unfortunately we didn't have room for dessert, maybe next time. A new favorite...we'll definitely...

Went to this restaurant to eat after work except for last week haven't been there in years. Figured I'd give the place a second try I was there the week before the food was super salty I couldn't eat it. I asked them not to salt the food. Again, my meal was super salty and again I couldn't finish. I was asked if I wanted my food wrapped I explained I couldn't eat it cause it was soooooo salty. I was told by Katie, the bartender, that most people complain about how salty the food is. About 30 minutes later I discussed the food again with her she was very defensive. Even though she told me prior how customers complained about the salt. I said, I see how upset you are and how defensive your getting about the food in here and we shouldn't discuss it anymore. Under her breath she said have another drink. I told her she was an arse. Will never go back there again. Was gonna leave her a 25% tip .... changed it to 20 got a dirty look. I use to go there all the time was trying to give it another chance, I'll never go...

The food was excellent. We ordered some sole, two different ways and we were both impressed. The service was okay. I was working on a high profile case that needed time. I was here for lunch and tipped 20%. I asked if we could stay for dinner but the server wanted us to leave so they could

seat their 5:30 diners at our table. Meanwhile when we left, my 95 y/o mother and me, only 5 tables were occupied. Maybe someone else's $150 is worth more than my $150.
