Freund's Kitchen / Yedid Gourmet — Restaurant in New York

This appetizing store is an essential part of the neighborhood. Specializing in fresh fish dishes and appetizing (i.e. smoked salmon, smoked sable, smoked whitefish, kippered salmon, a wide variety of herring in all sorts of novel preparations, gefilte fish, etc,) but famous too for their wide variety of kugels, including their famous 'overnight' kugel, this mainstay of consistently good taste is rightfully part of the fabric of the community. Being that this store is connected with the adjacent Freund's fish store, their product is always fresh, well curated, and professionally executed. Update: 12/18/17 They called me back the next day or so, to apologize for their service and handling, that they made a mistake, the rep wasn’t trained in properly.

They offered a refund plus some credit for a future order.

I’m not sure if I will ever order again but the fact that they called to apologize and try to make it right definitely helps.

I changed this review from a one star for a Four star review as the experience wasn’t great but improved and giving them a chance to fix the experience for all future consumers. No one should have the experience that we had.

Be ready to spend a little more then other places but boy do you get what you pay for! The food is on point, fresh, tasty, great portion size, and simply so delicious. Head on over, spend a little extra and thank me later, it is so worth it! No one beats the freshness, the food is so gourmet, filling, and healthy too!
