do they make 6 star reviews????
a few months ago, i saw someone post about how when they go out to eat, instead of getting a steak or some other expensive yet easily made main course, they instead go crazy on the apps, which gives u much more variety and bang for ur buck, typically. well, that person is a GENIUS.
i didnt think it was possible, but somehow this place got even BETTER since the last time- they are like a well oiled machine. it was absolutely insane. we ordered about TEN items and the first one came within 5 minutes. i dont understand how, but they pulled it off. what followed was a perfectly timed 2 hour long ONSLAUGHT of food that left me basically unable to move. which is near impossible....AND IT COST LESS THAN THE USUAL "app+ steak+ dinner". i mean seriously look at the pic of the table: just LOADED with all diff foods and colors and seriously, u need to try this when u go out next time. arent u sick of steak steak steak steak? i know i am!
i cant speak highly enough about this place. i legit dont understand how the food can be this good, the service so over the top attentive, and yet the prices are shockingly reasonable, even less than most other mid-high end places in NYC. a great example is the sushi- most high end places, simply bc they CAN, charge far more for their sushi rolls than, say, a low end sushi spot or pizza store....and yet, here, a deluxe, specialty cooked roll is basically the same price as ud find in a sushi tokyo etc. its just mindblowing.
lets get to the food- obviously, i had to revisit my old favorites: the chicken lollies- a great zing to the mango/chili sauce crispy beef: just look at the pic!! supremely well done tongue: some other places ive had this dish completely oversauce and overpower the flavor of the tongue. not here. done right tacos: seemingly everywhere now, but again, few places do it right. just enough sauce to add to the flavor, not overpower it. the "on fire" roll: again, high end sushi, low end price. my fav roll- spicy, but not enough that u burn ur tongue duck gnocchi- some places (that rhyme with bikes) feel less is more- u get about 3 spoonfuls per serving, and are left wanting more. but not at the loft- look at the serving size on this baby- find me another place that does it like this! and is basically on par w the previously mentioned place in terms of flavor
here are a few of the newbies/specials we had too: the lamb sliders: this is gonna sound crazy but this may have been our favorite. we were expecting the usual sliders w maybe a slightly lamby flavor but these things EXPLODED in our mouths. every lamb burger should take lessons from the ingredients here. they were really a standout item lamb riblets: again, see pic. LOTS of meat on the bones. less fat than most places. and perfectly flavored. its nice when a chef lets the flavor of the food do the talking instead of drowning it w sauces ribs: honestly, most ppl could get full from this item alone and it was an APP!! SO much meat on them. so. much. meat. perfect. veal ribs: an entirely differently flavor then the regular ribs and worth a gamble on. not sure how they were spiced exactly but it def complemented the unique flavor of the veal i literally didnt have another ounce of room in my stomach but they INSISTED i tried the "cinnamon" twist for dessert. it was basically like having a pareve, fresh out of the over CINNABON. it was so soft and gooey i wanted to take it home and cuddle with it. another winner.
they also have a FULL bar including frozen drinks and a HUGE sangria- see them both in the pics. and for some reason, beers are at a price that will make u think ur at a sports bar, not a high end restaurant.
in summary- ive eaten at almost every restaurant in town: i can fathom why anyone would eat anywhere else. for the price, this value simply cant be beat. its just such an overall better package than most places that it almost FRUSTRATES me to see people spending more money for inferior food/service. make sure the LOFT is ur first choice for a "fine dining" experience u...
Read moreOverall AMAZING!!! But for some details: We were running late and in keeping the staff informed along the way, we were greeted warmly at the door and shown to a table without delay. The restaurant is a Fine Dining Kosher experience in the Boro Park section of Brooklyn. It is a tri-level seating with the groud level, then at the second level, there is a small section with a few 2 and 3 seaters, and then a step up to a larger dining space. Despite the fact that we were reserved for 2, my date wanted a specific spot that had 3 chairs. With no concern at all, they let us have the 3 chair table, and we tossed our coats on the 3rd chair, which the staff was ok with. My date loved that!
Next, the managing staff checked in on us to make sure we were seated comfortably and ready to enjoy the night. Shortly thereafter, the waitress was on it and showed up to the table with our menus. We were having steak before we walked in, so we didn't even open the books. We asked her what she had (and recommended), and we entirely went off her verbal description, as she was extremely knowledgeable and descriptive about anything we asked. We landed at the Cowboy 28oz and asked her to have it made the way the chef recommends it, which was medium (always take your stake the way the chef recommends it!!!!!) It came out with a side of fries and done to perfection 👌 with just a little pink inside, which is exactly how we wanted it.
We had potato nioky (or however you spell that, 😆), and some kind of fried chicken pieces were as a starter.
The meal was fit for a king, we both walked in with an appetite and were well satiated, along with some leftovers for the kids, and a nice fat bone for the dog from the Cowboy Steak.
Again, not looking at the menu, we ordered the chocolate moose for desert along with some mint tea. All were amazing.
We also shared a nice Bordeaux, which was as well a nice choice.
The staff was warm, welcoming, and just all out attentive, checking in just enough, but also allowing us to enjoy our dinner. However, since they did everything so right, well, we never needed anything from them when they checked in.
These guys got it right! And if you know what this means, it was with real "Heimish Geshmack."
Oh, and finally, as for the check, it's does not at all break the bank. These guys had all their tables full the whole night, impressive!
They also built the gratuity into the check, which keeps things simple. I checked with the wait staff that the entire built-in gratuity ends up on their check, which they confirmed as such.
As for overall Kosher Fine Dining, we are at AAA +++++++++++++++ for these guys!
p.s. It was...
Read moreAh, The Loft Steakhouse. What can I possibly say about this place that doesn't make it look like I'm in love?
Well, let's begin.
The Loft Steakhouse has a factor that I have yet to see at another kosher establishment. Their service is 100% second to none. Starting with the owner Mr. Gluck who cares so much about the patrons, he is always walking the floor and making sure every single table is being taken care of.
The manager Meir, is amazing! Seriously, I've watched him single handed create absolute magic. When people take pride in the work they do, you know the experience is going to be phenomenal.
Andres Maître D' is exceptional, really. He is so pleasant to talk to. Always, always has a smile on his face, nothing ever phases him. You know they're doing a fine job, when the restaurant is literally packed to the brim every single night. If there is ever a slight problem, IT WILL BE cleared within a matter of seconds.
I always have this issue with some kosher restaurants, where the wait staff take no pride in their job, and know nothing about the menu. This does NOT happen at The Loft. I have had waiters recommend food to me and couldn't have been more satisfied.
Let's go to the food. The Chef! Chef Boris Poleschuck --- A chef that will never ever ever send out a plate gone wrong. Ever!
I've probably tasted most of the menu, so I will post pictures and describe the dishes. Every main dish has so much power - Every app has a world of flavors. It used to be difficult for me to love their desserts as they cannot be dairy - but they have truly upped their game and are now serving desserts such as Smores pies and Creme brulee. Yes! That!
My point is, wait you already know it! I have a foodie infatuation with The Loft and I hope it...
