Three of my friends and I went there because I was craving BBQ and throughout the entire time we were there, I ordered and spoke with the staff in Chinese even though my friends and I speak English. The staff were not very friendly, one of them rolled her eyes at me when I asked her to wait just a second while ordering to make sure the food is what everyone wants. However, even after all that hostility, I still decided to leave a generous tip at the table upon leaving despite my boyfriend's discouragement. As we stood up to leave, an older looking waitress (possibly the owner) intercepted me and loudly announced, "you know you need to give tip right?!" in a nasty tone without even looking at the big tip I had left at the table. First of all, NO establishment should say such a thing to customers let alone in front of many other paying customers. It's rude beyond belief. And second, it's really shocking how tolerant I was of this unacceptable attitude from the minute we sat down to the second we stood up. My friends were baffled. The staff there are a disgrace to not only them as a restaurant business, but also us as Chinese Americans. The food was decent but the whole experience is what truly matters. My friends and I came to have a good time but what we got instead was a bad impression. Would definitely not recommend for dinner with friends. Maybe try to go alone and hope they will give you better treatment than what...
Read moreI went with two of my friends after school. We were pretty hungry. Upon reaching the store and entering, we were not greeted by staffs. Even when sat there, no staff came up and gave us a menu. Most of them were in the back and one of my friend had to go back there to call them over. Their attitude was nice though. The food took the time you would expect to be done. I got a rice cake, a sausage and tofu. My friends got 2 beef, a gluten, fries and 2 hot dogs. The portion or the size of the food was decent. I really enjoyed the fries, it was crispy on the outside and soft on the outside. I enjoyed the rice cake, it was very chewy and savory. The tofu was a bit bland for me and the sausage was ok. My friend enjoyed her beef and my other friend enjoyed her hot dog. We can also all agree that the fries were good. The atmosphere was great. The lightening is a bit dim but I believed that’s why I liked it so much. There were also mirrors just on one side of the wall. I think the mirror played a huge factor, I couldn’t stop staring at myself cause it made me look so good. It genuinely boosted my ego. On the other side of the wall, there was like art and I thought they were cool....
Read moreSuper delicious Chinese BBQ place!!! Loved loved loved the lamb, streaky (fatty) pork, string beans, shrimp. Cucumber salad and scallion pancake also super tasty.
Note to Westerners: Chinese BBQ (in general) is meat seasoned with cumin and other spices and grilled until the edges are crispy. It is usually a bit fattier than most American meats but also very flavorful. If you're having trouble communicating with the waiter, point at the menu. Also, in many Chinese establishments, waiters do not come interrupt you like in Western restaurants. But if you look, the waiters are circling attentively and will come instantly when you look at them and raise...
