This place has become a sad place to go to. Not sure if it's under different owner or what. They to use to nice, but they become an unwelcoming place.
My last couple of times ordering there was just bad. I ordered over the phone for pick up. When I went there to pick up. The person whom I pick up my order told me they over cook the pizza pies and it too dry.
He said he can "remake the pies" if I want. Like I was going to wait another 30-40 minutes there while they make my pies again.
I took the over cooked pies and it what dry as freaking brick.
I gave them another chance recently and went back. This time I order in person. When I walked in, there was just one other customer that was waiting for her order.
There was a young lady there looking at her phone even though she know I was waiting to place my order. I wanted to be nice and waited few minutes while she stares at her phone. After few minutes I realized she was not going to acknowledge me so I said excuse me.
She came over to the counter with an attitude (probably because I interrupted her from her phone) and asked what I wanted.
I ordered my food and she left. I sat there for about 30 minutes before another guy came over and ask what I ordered. He noticed I have been sitting there waiting for awhile. He said he was sorry I waited for so long. Gave me my order and I left.
The whole time I was there, there was no other customers there.
Like I said, this place used to be decent. Good atmosphere. Now, it a sad place to go to. They treat their customers like dirt.
Only reason I go there is because my kids wants pizza once in a while. And they are closest to me. Time to look for other pizza place.
Avoid that place...
Read moreI’ve been a loyal customer of Gino’s over 10 years now. Unfortunately, I won’t be their customer ever again after what happened to me today. I ordered 2 large pies. For whichever reason, inside the boxes had tons of unknown white powders on and of course, the same unknown white powders/substance were on the pizza (see the pictures). I went out of my way to drive to the pizzeria to show them these horrible pizzas that I received and get an explanation from them. Instead of apologizing for these unacceptable quality of pizzas that I had, they simply said “it’s from the box, you can eat it!” I told them there was no way I’m feeding that unknown white powder to my kids. Employees in the pizzeria were gossiping amongst themselves instead of owning their fault and attempt to make it right for their customer. I eventually got a refund of one pie but not full refund. Honestly, it wasn’t even the partial refund that I was disappointed. It was the attitudes of all the employees in the pizzeria. Would they have had their kids eat the pizza with unknown white piercers on? And instead of apologizing, I was told that it is OKAY to eat paper box powders/residues and they were brushing me off. Not only did they waste my time and money, they left me a feeling of extreme disgust with this whole interaction. I won’t suggest anyone to go to Gino’s pizzeria. This is the worst experience I’ve ever had. I’m a hard working mom, just trying to feed my kids and keep them safe. I could have took my dollars anywhere. This is disappointing how they are treating their loyal customer who is trying to support...
Read moreI grew up in Bayside and Gino’s been a staple in my life over the years.
I called today to place an order for two pies for pickup and was told it would be ready in 20 minutes. I showed up 25 minutes later…they told me it was in the oven and almost ready…and then I waited an additional 30 minutes - only to see them JUST pop my order in. When asked if that was the pizza I called about almost an hour ago, all the guy said was “CAN’T YOU SEE I’M BUSY?!!!”
There’s nothing wrong with being "busy," but it’s the responsibility of the business to communicate that they’re running behind. I work in the events and service industry and Sunday is also my busiest day. I lost an hour of my workday waiting for this order and had to scramble to find an alternate place to feed my employees. Thankfully I was able to place an order on my way to Long Island at another pizzeria – who despite ALSO being busy – was able to have my order ready in 35 minutes.
Sad to see that Gino’s has lost yet ANOTHER loyal customer due to their poor management, unprofessionalism, and inability to politely tell people they’re running behind. Just check their recent yelp reviews – it’s one-star after another one-star review.
If you want to order from this place, make sure it’s the only thing you have on your agenda that day, because they will not...
