Very good food. But, after the appetizers arrived, we started to worry about the sushi. Then, the waiter James told us that he lost our sushi order. That was impossible because I personally had to walk up to James to give the appetizer order AND the sushi order. Then, he started to apologize and re-assured us that the sushi and sashimi we ordered would arrive. OK, so the food is done, and now we asked for a check. That is when I saw that my sister, who is only 2, was charged full price. She's not even three feet!!! So, we asked James what was going on. He gave me an excuse that really threw me off: My sister ate the food, so she has to pay. What the heck? It said on the outdoor sign that people 3 feet & under was free. I asked James why and he said to talk with the manager. So, after we paid the bill, I went to confront the manager. He said everything opposite of James so I knew that James might been just charging and scamming us money just because we complained about the sushi order issue. The manager paid back the extra money charged and I walked out the restaurant steamed. Time wasted: 1 hour. Average time to eat: 1 1/2 hours. Time I spent: 2 1/4 hours. There was a waitress serving us food, too. She was the average server you expect to get. She always checks on us and comes to our aid to clear dishes. :) . Note to manager: You were very helpful when I confronted you. Very good manager. P.S. It's as if James lost his temper when he dropped something made of glass and I heard it...
Read moreI came a for weekend lunch with my wife and daughter. We ordered a variety of signature sushi rolls and shared everything. The sushi was delicious! We loved everything we ordered. The service was a little sporadic and disjointed. There was no dedicated server and the staff didn't communicate well. We ordered hot tea and they brought us all ice water. We waited to see if they were going to bring tea as well but they never did, so we asked for it and then they brought it. The water had a little bit of an unpleasant taste. I think the ice gave the water a little funk. Ice machines are usually filthy and full of mold and mildew, so I like to avoid it whenever possible. Another critique was that the food took a long time to arrive. We waited 30 minutes for our sushi. The restaurant wasn't empty, but it wasn't super busy. Maybe they prioritize deliveries? I don't know what it was, but 30 minutes for sushi rolls at lunch time regardless of weekday or weekend is just too long. We were hoping to be in and out in an hour and it took an hour and twenty minutes from the time we walked in until the time we walked out the door, so be sure to pay for the full two hours on the parking meter. 4 Stars for delicious food alone. I'd like to give 3.5 stars because of the service being...
Read moreMy family and I (4 adults, 1 toddler) came here maybe 20 minutes after opening. We were seated immediately, offered tea and menus. Three of the four cups were chipped at the top so we were always mindful of it to avoid getting cut.
Pricing is a little higher than other local sushi joints but the size is also slightly larger than the cheaper places. I feel like they price the regular rolls on the higher side so you'd look more towards their special rolls and signature rolls which are on par with everywhere else.
Food came out at a good pace and it wasn't bad. It wasn't all that great either but somewhere in the middle. You can pretty much get the same flavors at your local joint. We were disappointed when two of the hand rolls we asked for came out as cut rolls. We didn't want to make a fuss about it so we just went with it.
We finished up, I asked for the check and was shocked to see that they already added an 18% tip to the total. Never in my life have I had a tip added to the bill for just 4 adults. I'm not sure why they decided to do that but between the mediocre food, the screw up on the rolls and the chipped cups -- we won't be...
