Read the reviews here and wanted to visit the art gallery. Unfortunately, it is not open to the public without reservations. I had arrived during the time their website said they were open to the public (Monday at 11 AM), but was stopped at the gate. They said they had only one appointment for today, and did not offer to add me to the list.
Apparently QCC runs a ‘closed campus’ and the public is not allowed to enter the grounds without an appointment or student ID. I was not even allowed to walk the grounds or visit the campus, as security did not deem that a legitimate purpose.
I am a teacher at a public college, so I had more than a casual interest in this institution. Every other public or private college I have ever visited has been welcoming to the public. I think it is sad and disappointing that QCC is shut off from the community they are...
