Great place to take a quick hike or a good enduro style bike ride! Lightly trafficked by local MTB riders during the week. Occasional dog walkers. Weekends are fairly busy with both BMX and MTB riders.
Easy to advanced (Green, Blue, and Blacks) trails offer something for everyone! Theres also a BMX pump track and 3 separate sections of BMX/Dirt jumps that are maintained by local riders! 2/3 are closely upheld.* WARNING! - DO NOT RIDE THESE COURSES IF YOU'RE NOT AN EXPERIENCED RIDER - YOU WILL GET HURT.* These guys put in hard work to keep the tracks maintained for optimal performance. No room for the Joey Family to come through and thrash it up. Be respectful and careful - pay close attention to the trail markers and only ride in the designated directions - I have seen collisions occur when the brush is full in the warmer seasons , blinding tight turns. Conditions vary drastically with weather as well - make sure you have...
Read moreFirst found this place in 1971, older kids took me, it was called, " the jumps ", Motorized "minibikes" dirtbikes, used to use this place then. After 45+ yrs, alot of erosion, but I can still recognize the core layout. It has since been developed "awesomely " after the turn of the Milenium. I heard, w/intent for possible use for 2012 Olympics (US DIDN'T WIN BID). Now it is part of NYC Parks dept, maintained, and continuously developed, by local bike shop, and bicycle advocacy groups. There are signs, w/info, and mainly for direction, once on trails, also indicating trail difficulty, using same color scale as skiing trails. DO NOT GO W/OUT A HELMET , OR REAL MOUNTAIN BIKE. I go, 20+ times a yr., (since 2012) all types of weather, snow is a blast. About 7 milles of diff. Trails, interwining, and connecting, and crosses over the Clearview Expressway for a whole 2nd side. Gets easier, once u learn...
Read moreLove love love this MTB PARK. It has just what I was looking for. The park is big and has multiple trails from beginner to advance. It also has multiple pump tracks that offer skill levels from easy to hard. It’s a great park to visit if you want to practice, learn or sharpen your skill levels more. Or just to have fun. The only thing I noticed was some trash build up at the second half of the park near a pump track. It seems like someone camps there at night idk. There’s broken glass pieces that could puncture your bike tire. But over all very awesome park!! Thank you to the people who manage and build this...
