Golden Gate — Restaurant in New York

The restaurant owner seems vindictive. I placed an order on December 17, 2023, around 6:49 p.m., but the delivery person was extremely disrespectful. He avoided eye contact, didn’t respond when I greeted him, and appeared angry or upset. I called the restaurant to express my concerns about the delivery person's attitude. It seems my complaint did not sit well with the owner.

On January 25, 2024, I placed another order at around 3:05 p.m., but it was canceled because they claimed to be "too busy" to complete it. After calling them, they suddenly agreed to accommodate the same order for pickup. I agreed and received a call when the food was ready. I asked for it to be delivered, but the owner insisted I pick it up myself. I eventually agreed, but I couldn’t find the restaurant—though maybe it’s fortunate, as I’m not sure what they might have put in the food.

The food is fine but the delivery and customer service is awful. I ordered my food at 6:05pm and by 7:55pm our food has still not been delivered. I called and they couldn’t even offer me more of a discount than taking off the tax. I should not have to wait two hours for food delivery that is less than a half mile away. Update: it took over 2 hours to get my food but the delivery driver was very apologetic and offered us a $10 refund. Not much for the amount of food we ordered but acceptable. Apparently, they were down some staff member, which evidently caused the whole system...

I was going to Pioneer, down the road, but a receptionist in my doctor's office said Golden Gate was better. I got there and was surprised at how expensive it was. Total, $42 for 3 things, one of the noodles. When I got home and ate it, it was not good. None of them. Pork fun, chicken egg foo young, and pad Thai - the pad Thai especially disappointing. Tasted cheap. I'll be giving the rest to the homeless - maybe not doing them any favors! And I waited about 20 minutes to get it. The young man behind the counter...
