Tibbett Diner — Restaurant in New York

During Covid, it gave us a great chance to order from many places in our area over the past year. We now mainly order from Tibbett. Out of all the diners in the area, we love their staff and food the most. We ordered tonight for delivery, and it came to our door hot, fresh and with smiling eyes (masked up). Everything was just as we ordered, and we are very picky people. Their wonderful staff never get upset and listen carefully when we order. They take the time to ask questions to make sure everything is right. We opened our meals and everything was cooked perfect and smelled terrific. The pot roast was so tender that no knife was needed at all. It just melted in your mouth. The mashed potatoes and corn were nice and hot so the butter melted quickly. They always send everything you could possibly need. Forks, knives, butter, salt and pepper, napkins, ketchup, dressings and more. If you need it....it's in the bag. The BBQ ribs were tender, savory, and filled with meat. The chicken sandwich was delicious. The cutlet was crispy on the outside and still juicy on the inside. Not dried out at all. The bun was fresh, not something saved over from the day before. They always make sure to send our pickles with extra because some family members always want to steel mine 😂 Our french fries were hot and crispy. The stuffed peppers were HUGE!!! You really get your money's worth, and they taste just like my family made when we were younger. Our salads were fresh and crisp. They always send plenty of dressing. I asked for extra egg and avocado and they aren't scared to put in lots of extra. My favorite was the grilled cheddar cheese sandwich with extra mushrooms. This isn't on their menu, but they never hesitate to make it for me. When I pulled the slices apart, there was lots of cheese and mushrooms mixed throughout. Their cook really took the time and cared when they made it. It wasn't sloppy and you didn't have to wonder where the cheese was. I was even more impressed when I called tonight to order. I could hear that they were very busy, but the gentleman still remained calm and kind. I could still hear the smile in his voice as he took our order. That shows a diner whose staff really cares. From past orders, our family can highly recommend the beef barley and their Manhattan clam chowder. They are wonderful. Their bread always comes hot, and easy to butter. We can't wait to get our second vaccine so we can feel comfortable dining in person. Tibbett will be the very first place we will go. We very highly recommend...

was there the other day. Nick, the owner, is such a generous kind soul. Long story short, he is the nicest guy ever. protect this man!!!! I parked in the private lot to eat, then go drop off my car at a nearby shop. realized i needed a cigarette, he directed me to the nearest spot and refused to take collateral i wanted to give him to prove i was coming back so as to not take up space in his very full parking lot. came back, and lawdy my timing, I had a medicine issue, and my doctor informed me as i was about to walk in that i had to leave to bring my car nearby and immediately go back home by public transit-- my new dose was dangerous to drive on. nick was understanding beyond. i promised him id come back to eat and dude if you see this you are the kind of person the world needs. as soon as i can get out the house again, im there, you have a loyal supporter and a customer. thank you for being you.

no clue about the food but it was completely full lol i imagine everyone in the area knows its the spot to be. will update how dank that grub is when i come through to munch. much love. down...

Small diner yet impressed of how fast we were seated for a Sunday afternoon. The service was great, the waiters were very attentive. I would of gave it five stars if the seating was a bit more comfortable towards the very end by the window. Seats were in an a awkward position that made you sit upright as if I were wearing a girdle on, not relaxing at all. I ordered the cuban sandwich which was tasty, (pickles were a bit small) pretty good. Pancakes came out a bit darker then the golden color I'm used to. The bacon was cold and quite horrible actually, more fat around it, tasted stale. The Belgian waffle was great topped with my favorite vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup. This place deserves a second chance. If any of the managers are reading this....please bring in some NUTELLA!!!! Will stop by next time around for an update. Parking is limited...around 10 spots for diner parking. Street parking adjacent to diner and the...
