Halal Bros Grill Bronx — Restaurant in New York

Glad I finally took the time to visit this location for TAKEOUT. I wasn't disappointed. The assistant manager, counter and cook greeted me. They were very pleasant. I mentioned that I had been wanting to stop by on my way from the gym but never got the chance. They offered me a samples of their jerk chicken, grilled chicken and lamb. I was sold! I got the Combo Platter with the lamb & chicken over rice and a little medi salad. It even came with some pita and a soda (I opted for seltzer water). Everything was juicy and flavorful without being too salty. The cucumber salad was so fresh!! It was so good that I wound up suggesting them to my brother and mother for DELIVERY. No difference. It was just as good as i remembered it being the first time. The only reason i gave the atmosphere 4 stars is because I'd like to be able to sit and eat there (The space is big enough for maybe a table or two). Wow wow wow. We saw this go viral on the media and we had to try this. My wife and I went with our daughter and off rip it was a vibe. I could use some Caribbean music but let me tell you that jerk was me back in Jamaica and I love Jamaican food ! Rafael was such a vibe and describe the menu perfectly and the sauces ! We had the jerk over rice with the dragon sauce, jerk sauce and white sauce. Bussinnnnnn!!!! Even the plain fries was busssinnn!!!! The jerk sauce is a bbq based jerk sauce and I’m not huge on it but this one was just right. If you want more spice add the hot sauce. The chicken was charred as if it were cooked on a grill outside. Also our platters came with a drink and salad! Def coming back and recording this ! The hype is real ya’ll. One thing I can say is the the chicken wasn’t not of a room temperature and not steaming hot. Just check the water in the steam table. For that I would give a place a 4 maybe 4.5 but the food was that good and the sauces. Crispy fries !!! Y’all get a 5!!!! Coming back for them Jerk fries...

So.... I've never had a restaurant literally give me a salad on the side that I HAD TO PAY EXTRA FOR THEM TO DO, only for them to put a couple of leaves of lettuce and mainly red onions and a sprinkle of cucumber to only then, BALL IT UP IN A PIECE OF ALUMINUM FOIL! like a literal ball. I thought it literally was a piece of scrap tin foil or a piece of bread until I opened it up.

Also, the food is just sladdered in the sauce you cant even make the distinction if you got more than one type of sauce. Like bro, I really don't do written reviews I usually take my food and go regardless, but this was some prime foolishness. Don't order food in The Bronx, just go to the supermarket. And yes, I am from the Bronx from at least 20 years of living here saying this, just save yourself the stress.
