As far as neighborhood spots go, this is a good one. Like all of us I guess they do have some rough nights. My recent experience there was a bust and so I wanted to put out a few key takeaways that may help with your own experience/decision. Probably better to eat there than get takeout (I got a burger and potatoes and ended up waiting an extra 30 minutes beyond when they told me it'd be ready. And even though I live 5 minutes away, it was stone cold by the time I got home). If you do order pickup, check your food before you leave (I paid for a medium temp cheeseburger with extra toppings and also asked them to throw some standard fixings on top - you know, lettuce, pickles, mayo and the like - and ended up finding a pretty sad, fairly naked and well-done franken-cheese burger that looked like they had taken two separate cast off patties of different sizes and tried to push them to form one hoping that the cheese would melt enough to glue them together. Maybe they don't offer lettuce on their burgers? But, could also be an opportunity to update the online menu to let folks know what toppings come standard -- cheese and onions? --- in addition to what options you pay extra for (as long as you get the extras you pay for)). Overall, a bit of a bummer of an evening but hopefully not reflective of their usual...

This unassuming gem defies the conventions of casual dining with a culinary experience that is both refined and deeply comforting. From the moment one enters, the ambiance strikes a harmonious balance between warmth and sophistication—ambient lighting, understated decor, and an attentive yet unobtrusive staff create an inviting atmosphere without pretension. The menu, though approachable, reveals a thoughtful curation of flavors and textures. Each dish is executed with precision, evidencing a kitchen where craftsmanship is paramount. Beverage offerings are commendable, with a selection of artisanal sodas that complement the fare without overshadowing it. Desserts are not an afterthought; the flowerless chocolate cake, in particular, was a masterclass in balance—bright, rich, and utterly satisfying. What elevates this establishment beyond its peers is its commitment to consistency and authenticity. It is a place where care is evident in every detail, and where diners are made to feel not merely accommodated, but genuinely welcomed. In an age of overhyped trends and fleeting dining fads, this restaurant stands as a testament to the enduring appeal of thoughtful, honest food served...

Our family considers ourselves regulars ! We come here for brunch, lunch, dinner, and we even celebrated my birthday here twice. It’s always delicious, the service is fantastic, and there’s always something fun to try on the specials menu. Love stopping by for a guaranteed good meal! Try the biscuit with the honey almond butter if you’re in a sweet mood, and you can’t go wrong with any dessert - make sure to leave room! The shrimp and grits are amazing, and the Reuben sandwich is soo filling. I love the artichoke salad with grilled chicken for lunch or dinner- I didn’t think I could be passionate about a salad but I really am. The kale salad is great too. There are many great things on the menu and so in the spirit of honesty, I usually don’t go for the Mac and cheese as other things are better. The cheese quesadillas if you’re in a cheesy mood are my recommendation. The mussels are so good with extra toast to share, preferably with the tomato broth. My sister loves the steak and gets it every time with extra mashed potatoes. We prefer the mashed potatoes to the potato wedges as a side. The salmon is amazing as well. I can go on about anything on the menu as I’ve sampled just...

Hamiltons strikes out. We really wanna like this place but there's always something. Today we walked over and got a table, wasn't very busy. Ordered a round and then waited and waited and waited for the second round. At which point we were told (before we got our drinks) that we had to move tables to the "drinking table" (which was clearly an end table they pulled out of the restaurant not a real table). Our bill was $40 already with just the 4 drinks. We would have stayed and drank more and probably ate eventually. Either way we felt insulted. I would understand if it was 2 ppl at a 4 top. Granted it was filling up a bit but as we were leaving there were at least 2-3 tables being cleaned. Someone just didn't want us sitting and drinking and taking in the day in their section I guess. Turn em and burn em I guess. Sorry Hamiltons but this isn't the experience we're looking for. Picture of said "drinking table" attached.

Came to eat at Hamilton and me and my partner ordered the Grass fed steak with eggs, potatoes, and salad for $31 and the grilled chicken sandwich with bacon, arugula and herb Aioli for $16. In my opinion the steak platter was overpriced due to the amount of steak that was very little and a huge load of salad was taking up half the plate. Thought it would be the opposite… the chicken sandwich was alright for the price and taste. Ordered a iced latte too as well as a pina colada. The pina colada was great but the latte tasted watery almost like an americano with milk… overall the staff was nice and service was alright.

This is my updated review, as I've now been living in Kensington for over a year. Hamilton's has become my go-to brunch thought. I've gone through favorites, the huevos rancheros, this swiss breakfast and the eggs benedict are always phenomenal. My eggs are perfectly poached, and the only thing I can ever complain about is asking for more pico de gallo. The soju bloody Mary is the best bloody Mary in the neighborhood. Really can't be beat. Everyone is very nice. And I've almost never had a bad experience here. If you stop by and there are seats, I would recommend sitting down and having a meal.
