This has been in the neighborhood for a little while but this is my first visit. It will most likely be my last. These people can't count and they damn sure can't cook. I had a butler named Latoya when I was in Jamaica last week and I should have had her cooking for me. That escovich fish I had was not only dried up and kind of hard but the fish was a bit off. It was either old or going bad and it was obvious that they used a little extra pepper pickle to cover up the old fish taste with heat and spice. Metric may fool some people, but if you've got the least bit discriminating palate, you're going to see through this. The cabbage that I had was a little dry as well. When something's been sitting in the heating and warming pan for a while and you serve it up, it's probably a good idea to give it a good stir before you give someone the dried hard part at the top. This did not happen. That said, at least that didn't taste bad. The peas and rice were good. The service left a lot to be desired. Now it is customary every once in a while for people to make mistakes when they are giving change and I do know that few people use cash. My order came to $8.72 . I gave the young lady who was ringing me up. She gave me one back $1 change and when I asked her for the rest of the change her manager very loudly got back to me and said why did I think I should have some change if I gave her $10. Now this lady was on the phone with someone at the time that the transaction happened and I said I gave her $10.75 and she said exactly the order was $8.72 she gave you back a dollar. I explained that I needed to have $2.03 change. The sad thing is I would have thrown one of those dollars in for a tip. But after that response from a manager that was not only wrong but loud and condescending before she caught herself and apologized. I kept both my dollars and my paltry $.03 I have been really. I work in the service industry myself. I also am a person with a learning disability so I have a certain amount of sensitivity to people when it comes to issues and shortcomings. I also don't work at all if I don't treat my customers and clients with more respect than I got. So if you want second rate Jamaican food and a nasty attitude then go right on ahead...
Read moreI really wasn’t expecting much from this place due to ordering 20-15 minutes for pickup before closing but I was actually really surprised! I ordered the Curry Chicken Roti but there was a mix up with how Uber Eats labeled it to just being Curry Chicken and didn’t even say if it came with sides or anything. The super sweet Latoya that I met working there totally understood the mix up and gave me the Curry Chicken with Roti on top of the Curry Chicken with rice and peas and greens. The portion size is amazing and does not disappoint which is really important to me since I eat a lot and can spread it out to last you even longer. I was expecting the food to be ok with it being the end of the day and the last order for them but baby the chicken was nice and moist and still fell right off the bone, the curry sauce was hitting, rice and peas cooked amazing with perfect moisture and texture ,of coming back, especially to the...
Read moreOn a Friday afternoon I stopped in, the smoke from the jerk chicken on drum grill drew me in. I stated I wanted jerk chicken straight off the grill (as I was unsure whether they had others in a heat pan) the waitress informed me that all their jerk chicken was fresh daily, I heard and she further informed me that the chicken may be a little juicy as it wasn’t yet to the jerk chicken standard. As long as it was cooked, it was fine by me. She topped it with that jerk sauce and I was on my way.
That jerk chicken was nicely seasoned, charred to perfection, juicy and the sauce was flavorful. Scrumptious!
I hope they continue to strive in their business, develop in the areas that need improvement and continued success in the areas they’re great...
