2nd visit (four years later):
EVEN WORSE THAN FOUR YEARS AGO. DON'T GO HERE!! Lady at register was in a horrible mood and seemed like she didn't want to be there. We ordered two drinks that ended up being $20 in total. I asked to have a spoon with my smoothie due to a recent tooth extraction but they didn't have any. The entire place was a mess, the fruits on display were old and bruised, two people in the store played chess that didn't seem to be there other than maybe they were friends with the owner, the table they had looked misplaced and not for any costumers to use. I love to support the businesses in my neighborhood and thought I'd give this place a second shot because I know it is black owned. It looks like no improvements were made and for a steep price.
I would give no stars if I could, Everytime I walk into this establishment it seems like the workers don't want to work of have any customers. I walked in, the door was open and I couldn't tell if the open light was on due to the Sun being so bright. I walked in and he asked me rudely, "Does the sign say open?" I will never go...

Was in the neigh for meeting at a local school and looking for healthy foods options. Some NYC neighborhoods can be bombarded with only fried chicken spots and if thats not your thing it can feel like a food desert.
I was happy to find this gem. Ran by a pleasant Rastafarian the spot is cozy and clean. My colleagues and I entered shortly after he opened up. With all of us ordering multiple items and he as the lone staff member it could have created a bit of chaos but he handled the orders with ease.
They have a number of fresh juice, smoothie and patty options. I went for the Restore smoothie while colleagues had juices and Pattie's. They raved about both the callaloo and salmon and was big mad I didn't take it to go.
Prices are quite reasonable for the size and taste of the products. Support a small business and your health and visit Uptown Juice...
Read moreJuice was straight but homegirl (the young lady who served me) was rude and her energy was negative from the moment I stepped in until the moment I left.
She reluctantly took and made my order, which I patiently waited for and before cashing me out after handing me my drink, she started on another order. How does that make sense? It doesn't.
The customer infront of me said the same thing about her energy and how it affects the atmosphere.
Lastly, If I HAND you the payment, don't put my change on the table..hand it back to me.. That was disrespectful and she knew what she was doing.
My suggestion is to hire someone who actually doesn't mind working and putting forth an effort. If I feel as though I won't come back to this establishment strictly because of her, I'm sure other customers...
