JOOY TEA SHOPPE (BROOKLYN 53ST) — Restaurant in New York

I am writing this review solely about customer service. I have ordered from JOOY before, and tonight was the first time there was an issue. I had a major craving for a Mango Tornado, which is the only drink I get at JOOY. I know, I just really like boba with slushies. To meet the order minimum, I just get the combo meal, since I enjoy the curly fries and burger.

After placing my order at 7:27, I get a call from JOOY at 7:33 informing me they are out of yakult for the Mango Tornado. I am disappointed, so I ask if I can cancel my order, because any alternative I want has yakult in it. The person tells me that I cannot cancel my order because they already made the food. This is incredibly poor customer service. I understand that most people would be fine switching drinks, but on the off chance that's not the case, calling before making anything would be the better option. Jooy makes good drinks and food and has a nice, simple aesthetic with plenty of seating. The music isn't too loud - I am able to work and have a low conversation with a friend when I visit. I like their specialty drinks (lots of fun ones), and their classics are solid too. They have all of the expected add-ins/toppings, as well as some more special ones - I like swapping purple rice for my boba when I come here since a lot of places don't have that option. The fried chicken is nice and crispy - try the original flavor. The staff aren't super welcoming but they have digital ordering kiosks anyways. I like being able to take my time to browse the menu on a screen, and it's nice if you get anxiety standing at the counter trying to figure out your order. I'm a repeat customer and will...

Whats the point of ordering for pickup ahead of time when they dont make the drinks until after you arrive. Not to mention they made the orders of everyone who arrives after and left my order hanging at the ticket section. The app told me my order was ready and ofc, it was not. And nobody bothered attending to anyone waiting to pick up when there were drinks ready at the counter. Overall just distasteful service. And it was not the first time for an online order to be neglected in this way. The 60th street location is better in this regard.

Update: waited half an hour for two simple drinks after the lady told me "2 minutes". so great. A bunch of people who ordered after me got their drinks in the 10 extra minutes I sat waiting after I made the lady aware. Don't expect good...
