Let's start with the caveat that this is a review for a restaurant in an airport. As my wife pointed out, I shouldn't give concessions to it just for that. But I will compare it to other airport meals I've had in the past. This is one of the better ones, in terms of the food. Certainly not in terms of the service, nor the environment, nor the incredibly loud, ear ringing clatter that happened throughout the meal. There seemed to be only one person on duty, and she was frazzled. I don't hold that against her, as that's something the owners should be dealing with, but the outcome was that she was unable to pay attention to most anybody for any period of time that would've made the experience pleasant. The restaurant seems to have been designed to generate and retain as much sound as possible. The walls were tile, the floor was tile and the ceiling was something akin to tin. It was as if they deliberately wanted to make sure that the place was as audibly annoying as possible to ensure fast turnaround. If it wasn't a deliberate choice, someone severely screwed up in the planning stages. But the food was good enough. That's about the level of quality I think it deserves to be labeled as. We each got the breakfast quesadillas with potatoes. They were stuffed full of ingredients that are as quality as you'll find in an airport, and the flavors worked. Look, if you have to eat a meal at the airport, and you're not interested in fast food, you...
Read moreBefore writing my review, I read a couple of the other reflections of other travelers to see how far off base my observations might be. While it’s probably true that all of the restaurants at the Jetblue terminal are probably owned and operated by the same food conglomerate, my wife and I were very impressed with both the food as well as the server, Brendon, who was gracious and seemed to take great interest in our happiness with our breakfast. While this was our first time eating at La Vie, we will definitely return. It’s conveniently located next to the Starbucks and often obscured by their long lines. Initially we were on the Starbucks line but then had time to read La Vie’s poster board menu and decided( since we noticed an empty table) to opt out of our line and enjoy our granola and berries breakfast. And their coffee...
Read moreSave your hard earned money and DO NOT stop at this restaurant! Waste of time and money: they charged me $4.99 for a small Diet Pepsi which was served with LOTS of ice, no refills: 2 sips and it was gone. Ordering and payment procedure can be difficult if your phone's WiFi capabilities are slow or your phone battery juice is low. Not a charger in sight. The place was not busy at all, with 2 patrons sitting on bar, drinking wine. For some reason, my meatball appetizer took over 20mins to arrive--in fact, I never even got to receive and enjoy it, as my flight started to board, attendant said food wasn't available yet, and I had to dash to my gate. I really thought I'd like this spot, due to lovely Parisian decor. Very...
