Let me first start off by saying this is not a functioning lounge. It’s nearly a hangout outdoor space that just happens to be at gate 28 terminal 5 JetBlue. Which is funny because while walking to my gate (28) I was pissed that it was sooooo far. I’m like dang I’m getting to old for these long behind walls to airport gates lol. I passed the door to the lounge (which I found to be somewhat discreet) I’m not sure most people even know it’s there.
I took a seat at my gate and decided I would check it out once I got myself together.
It’s a cute spot to get some air and stretch your legs. They offer some table and chair setups so you can also grab a bite to eat and enjoy it there. Which leads me to this caviot. They don’t offer any service. It’s only an outdoor space. This a no smoking area. Access to all passengers which includes dogs.
I did smell a faint smell of urine in one area that the dogs occupy. Nothing crazy.
The lounge overlooks some current construction projects so the view isn’t all that pretty.
It’s cute and worth the experience if your gate...
Read moreNice clean rooftop area open daily from 6am to 10pm (06:00 - 22:00 Uhr). Unfortunately for plane spotters this is no position as you can only spot the tip of the tail of a plane if your lucky. However, this place is ideal on long layovers, delays etc to catch some "fresh" air and relax away from the noise and hectic inside of the terminal. Sometimes you have the rooftop even for your own depending on the day and time. In addition it has a pet poop area especially meant for dogs but I've also seen people bringing their cat up there. Despite it is a pet relief area, it is very clean. Some signs and cameras seem to help that owners collect the poop of their dogs before leaving. But also the general area with some grass to stretch and relax (no dogs allowed), plenty of seating possibilities and a few small tables for eating, it is very clean. Thanks to the people who helps to keep this...
Read moreOK, so like holy moly! I had 3 hours to wait for my flight, the first two I sat in front of the hidden door, without knowing that this place exists! When I finally saw the hidden door, I decided to check it out- this rooftop is amazing! It is pretty hard to see the door but once you find the door, you get free access to a beautiful rooftop where you can breathe some fresh New York air, eat your lunch on the several benches and tables, and have a blast, just before you leave New York.
There’s also a small area for your pets. I would highly recommend checking this place out where it is much less crowded and the fresh air is significantly better than what you would breath...
